When I first began to watch the WWF on a regular basis way back in 1989 one of the stars who really grabbed my attention was “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan.
Which I why I was interested in getting the man’s view on the year before in Kayfabe Commentaries’ latest DVD release Timeline: The History of WWE 1988.
With Sean Oliver once again posing the questions old Hacksaw gives us his trademark call before discussing the big events of that particular year.
It certainly is an interesting interview, with Duggan discussing his role and his view on things.
But unlike the previous release involving Don Muraco Duggan deviates a great deal, often telling stories about the talent from other years, and while this makes for an interesting and entertaining experience I couldn’t help but feel that I’d been cheated a little.
Don’t get me wrong, this is a great release, with Duggan coming across as a man passionate about the business where he continues to make his name to this day, but it may have been better to get him to sit down for a YouShoot interview instead.
So if you’re a fan of old Hacksaw Jim Duggan then by all means get this DVD. Just be prepared when he goes off course a little.
With thanks to the powers that be for supplying a copy of this release. Timeline: The History of WWE 1988 is available to buy online at www.kayfabecommentaries.com.
