Same here. And how he apologizes at the end, “Keep you guys updated, sorry about this”…that made me respect the guy even more. He’s obviously given his body to us over the years, he’s putting his life back together, his back goes out, he’s laying in a hospital bed, and HE apologizes to US. I was always a Hogan fan…how can you not be…but long ago I was on the bandwagon that just rolled his eyes like “Ugh, political Hogan is at it again”. But I can tell since his TNA jump, he’s really trying to give back.
I think you’re right, Dillon. What surprised me is how involved Hogan is in all of the storylines in terms of understanding them. He references all of these guys and all of these programs during his promos and he gets it right each time. I rewind in my mind back to the late 90’s when he was the centerpiece of the nWo and he didn’t know a damn thing about WCW’s other storylines.
So I think you’re right – since he moved to TNA, he’s really trying to give back to the next generation of wrestlers.
