Match 1 – Tiffany vs Layla w. Michelle McCool – Commentators: Todd Grisham and Matt Striker
To my dismay Tiffany will take on Layla in the opener. This match has the weirdest opening ever as Layla plays with Tiffany’s skirt. Both women then “chain-wrestle” and I use the word “chain-wrestle” really loosely. Tiffany kicks Michelle in the gut on the outside, and gets a receipt when the referee isn’t looking and hits Tiffany in the knee. Layla and McCool then work over the knee of Tiffany. The former ECW GM makes a come-back by kicking and elbowing Layla, she then hits her opponent with a bulldog, and a scary looking suplex. Speaking of scary-looking moves Tiffany jumps off the seecond rope and gets like a foot of air on a cross-body and almost hits Layla in the head with her foot, but Layla is able to dodge the move. Layla then follows up with a the Lay-out for the pin.
Official Result: Layla w. Michelle McCool def. Tiffany via pinfall.
We then get a NXT re-bound covering the “kissing” contest. Afterwards the main event of Zack Ryder vs Evan Bourne is plugged, and so is the Summerslam 2010 official song “Rip it Up”.
Match 2 – Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins vs The DudeBusters (Trent Beretta and Caylen Croft) – Commentators: Todd Grisham and Matt Striker
Hawkins and Beretta start the match. Striker makes a NYCW (Mikey Whipwreck’s school and promotion) plug about how both men trained their, which is where Striker trained aswell. Dudebusters get advantage first with Croft in the ring, but is met with Vance Archer who overpowers Caylen for a little bit, until Croft tags in Trent. Both men then hit a number of double team-manuevers on the big man in the match. Croft climbs on the top rope, and is just smacked off it by Archer onto the ring floor and Superstars takes a commercial break. We come back to Superstars with Hawkins working over the back of Caylen. Hawkins hits a cool-looking swinging powerslam on his opponent. Archer gets tagged in, and hits a running boot to Caylen who was on his hands and knees. Vance hits a variation of a belly-to-belly suplex and then tags in Hawkins. Croft throws Hawkins into the corner and makes the hot tag onto Beretta. Trent hits a springboard dropkick and gets a nearfall. Archer throws himself over the top rope, when Caylen drops the ropes and goes for a crossbody on the outside, but misses Vance. Curt tags in Archer who hits a big boot and then an inverted DDT on Trent Beretta followed up by an elbow drop by Curt Hawkins for the pin. After the match Curt Hawkins grabs the mic and says that they wan’t gold, and if the tag champions won’t come to them, then they will find them.
Official Result: Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins def. The DudeBusters (Trent Beretta and Caylen Croft)
Afterwards is a Preview for the new John Cena movie, Legendary which is about John Cena coaching his younger brother how to be an amateur wrestler. The weekly Superstars Package is for The Miz. After the package, the RAW Rebound is shown.
Match 3 – Evan Bourne vs Zack Ryder – Commentators: Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler
Ryder is wearing trunks, and has gotten rid of his weird one-legged tights. Zack beats up on Evan with kicks and fore-arms. Bourne hits Ryder with some kicks, but is met with a double fore-arm attack from Zack. Bourne hits Ryder with a dropkick and a hurricanrana to get the advantage. Bourne then clotheslines Ryder out onto the apron and follows up with a dropkick. Bourne goes for a plancha onto Zack, but meets the guard-rail throat first. This sends Superstars into a commercial break. We return to Superstars with Ryder having a side-headlock locked onto Bourne. Evan is hit with a neck-breaker from his opponent, and is put in the side-headlock once again. Ryder hits Bourne with a running boot to Bourne who was on the bottom rope in the corner. Bourne hits Ryder with an enzuigiri and gets a near-fall from a small package. Bourne gets another nearfall after he hits a dropkick onto Ryder who is in the corner. Zack hits Evan with a spine-buster, but is caught on the top-rope and Bourne hits a back-body drop on Ryder, and follows up with a Shooting Star Press and gets the pin.
Official Result: Evan Bourne def. Zack Ryder via pinfall
Overall Thoughts: Overall was an average episode of Superstars. The opener was pretty bad, but is expected from Tiffany and Layla. The tag match was good, but confused the crowd as it was a heel vs heel tag match. The main event was fun as any match between Bourne and Ryder is, both men have a lot of chemistry.
