SUNSPORT Wrestling Editor Simon Rothstein has been snapped up by TNA to open a UK and Ireland office.
Simon will now leave The Sun, where he has covered the grappling game expertly for the last nine years.
He used to write under The LilsBoys name along with tag team partner Richard Bernstein, before kicking him through the proverbial barber’s shop window to go it alone.
His time here has seen a string of exclusives and interviews picked up around the world, as well as a clutch of prestigious awards and nominations for him and our wrestling pages.
Simon said: “I am really going to miss writing for The Sun, where I’ve covered the highs and lows of almost a decade in the wrestling business.
“I’ve been to five WrestleManias, three Lockdowns and countless other major WWE and TNA events and got to interview and work alongside my heroes including Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, Paul Heyman and the late Eddie Guerrero.
“Mostly I’m going to miss the readers, whose feedback has helped make the website and our WrestleCast show what they are today.
“But I leave a great team behind, who will take the site from strength to strength.”
Simon added: “Ever since my first trip to Orlando to see TNA, I have felt like part of the family.
“The UK and Ireland are of huge importance for TNA and where we already enjoy record ratings and profile.
“I hope to see lots of Sun readers on the January tour so I can share a beer and hear their feedback.”
