THE TOP 5 BIGGEST IMPACTS FROM TNA “iMPACT!”
by Jody Logan
Each week, TNAwrestling.com will look at the five moments from iMPACT that had the biggest impacts on TNA Wrestling. We will break each situation down and let you know what to expect next week.
5. Everyone has a Weakness; it’s just a Matter of Finding it
The challenger for the X-Division title this Sunday, Brian Kendrick, is now possessor of a major advantage; it was just a matter of finding the champion’s weakness. Last week, the high flying Kendrick proved he was more than able to survive in Douglas Williams’s world, when he defeated Desmond Wolfe in a submission match. This week, Williams tried his luck in Kendrick’s realm, as he took on Jeremy Buck in a ladder match. William’s greatest fear was realized, when his own fear, heights, was exposed to the world. Williams would go on to lose the non-title ladder match, by not being able to swallow his fear and climb the ladder.
4. Angelina Puts it All on the Line
Angelina Love won a very decisive victory of Daffney on iMPACT! Thursday night, but after the match the stakes were raised. Angelina stated that this Sunday at Victory Road, she planned to become the first ever four-time Knockout’s champion. After those confident words, the current champion, Madison Rayne, came out and challenged Love to put her career on the line in Sunday’s match. Love accepted, finalizing this huge encounter for Victory Road.
3. Fighting like Brothers
A.J. Styles and Kazarian engaged in a very physical, very competitive, and seemingly very personal match on Thursday night. After the match ended in a double count out, the two men continued to brawl as their emotions began to spill out with their actions. Taz remarked that the two men seemed to be “fighting like brothers”, struggling to get the last punch on the other. Ric Flair came out and put an end to the brawl with an announcement that would rock both wrestler’s worlds. Flair stated that if A.J. and Kazarian wanted to be in Fortune, then they would have to team together and win a match at Victory Road. Their opponents will be revealed at Victory Road.
2. RVD – Survival Specialist
Samoa Joe took the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Rob Van Dam, to the limit and back on iMPACT! Thursday night. Joe came at RVD with a number of different submission holds and high-impact maneuvers. In the end though, RVD managed to turn Joe’s inescapable coquina clutch into a pin fall for the victory. After the match, Joe let his emotions run wild as he delivered a devastating muscle buster to the referee.
1. Four Way Chaos
The main event of iMPACT! featured friends Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson squaring off in a one on one match. What transpired was a small preview of the four way explosion that will occur at this Sunday’s Victory Road. Hardy picked up the victory after Mr. Anderson missed his own version of a senton bomb. After the pin fall, Abyss rushed the ring, looking to leave a path of destruction as he has the past three weeks. Hardy and Anderson met him head on, gaining the upper hand for only a moment, until “The Monster” was too much for them to overcome. Rob Van Dam then sprinted to the ring to assist in the slaying of Abyss. Between the three men and a steel chair, they were able to knock Abyss out of the ring and to the floor. The victory would be short lived though; as the three men celebrated, Abyss could be spotted rising from the floor, seemingly angrier than ever.
