TNA Wrestling’s Rob Terry recently spoke with Wales Online. Here are some highlights.
On his start in pro wrestling:
“I remember watching pay-per-views over at my friend’s house because we didn’t have it. Life in Swansea was great and growing up wrestling was a huge part of my life. We would all go watch it and it really inspired me a lot. That is what I always wanted to do, I just didn’t know how I could get there.” Rob soon got into professional body building and got his break at Muclemania 2006, “A wrestling scout came after me at the show in California and said that I had a good look and they would like to train me up as a pro-wrestler”.
On being a pro wrestler from Wales:
“I believe I am the first Welsh professional wrestler. It is a huge honour to represent Wales and I am so thankful for that.”
His reaction to meeting the big time stars of TNA:
“The first day in the locker room, I was there with Sting, AJ Styles, Kurt Angle and all these guys and my jaw hit the floor.”
Rob talks about staying in contact with his fans from Wales and their thoughts on his career:
“I have got MySpace and Facebook and I try to update people about what I am doing and where I am. I get lots of positive mail and I try to get back to people as much as I can. It is nothing but encouragement, from Swansea and right across Wales.”
