Every Friday, TNAwrestling.com will look at the five moments from iMPACT that had the biggest impacts on TNA Wrestling. We will break each situation down and let you know what to expect next week.
5. Beer Money defeats Ink. Inc
In the finals of a mini tournament to determine who will face the Motor City Machine Guns for the vacant tag team titles at Victory Road, Beer Money defeated Ink. Inc. Ink. Inc. was at a deficit for the majority of the match, as Brother Ray had taken out Jesse Neal backstage prior to the match. Shannon Moore was forced to go at it alone, until a hurt Jesse Neal made an appearance near the end of the match. The stage is now set for either the Motor city Machine Guns or Beer Money to be crowned the new TNA Tag Team Champions at Victory Road.
4. Tommy Dreamer Travels with a Posse
Tommy Dreamer made another unexplained appearance during iMPACT! this week. He showed up during the Beer Money vs Ink Inc. match, only this time he was not alone. Dreamer was travelling with long-time “hardcore” friends of his: Raven and Dr. Stevie. With a plate full of unanswered questions, Mike Tenay asked Taz if he knew what was going on, since Taz has had a long history with all of these “hardcore” players. Taz claimed he knew as much as anyone else – nothing.
3. No Escape for the two Beasts
Matt Morgan came out to the ring during iMPACT! to make a blockbuster announcement. Morgan claimed that the “people who have the power” informed him that at Victory Road, it would be Matt Morgan vs Hernandez in a steel cage match. Morgan claimed this is exactly what he wanted, stating that this way Hernandez could not stage a sneak attack on him. One would have to believe that the rage inside the cage at Victory Road will be even bigger now, because after Morgan’s speech, he took out Hernandez’s best friend, Homicide, in the same fashion that put Hernandez on the shelf for two months – a crushing Carbon Footprint into a steel post.
2. 10/10/10 – It Only Happens Once a Century
After months of rumours and anticipation, the date and location of TNA Wrestling’s most illustrious event of the year, Bound for Glory, was announced on iMPACT! Bound for Glory 2010 will be held live from Daytona Beach, Florida on October 10, 2010.
1. Four Times the Danger
Hulk Hogan made the announcement at the top of iMPACT! that the TNA World Heavyweight Title would be defended in a four-way match at Victory Road, pitting Rob Van Dam against Mr. Anderson, Jeff Hardy, and “The Monster” Abyss. Later in the evening, Abyss continued his reign of terror, by defeating Mr. Anderson in a falls count anywhere match. Post-match, Abyss made sure Mr. Anderson got the same treatment as Jeff Hardy the week before – a devastating choke slam off the ramp way and through the staging. After that choke slam, Hulk Hogan delivered a chair shot to the back of Abyss, that seemed to take no effect. “The Monster” then proceeded to take out every security guard that came at him to separate him and the immortal “Hulkster.”
