TNA celebrated their anniversary yesterday, taking over the NASCAR restaurant at Universal Orlando’s Citywalk for a party where TNA stars mingled with out of town fans as they watched the UFC PPV.
Appearing on behalf of the company were TNA President Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Hardy, Abyss, Jeremy Borash, Shannon Moore, Jesse Neal, Socal Val, Kazarian, The Beautiful People, Magnus, James Storm and Douglas Williams.
Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett both addressed the crowd, thanking them for their support of the company over the last eight years. Carter told the story of how the company was formed after a fishing trip on Bob Ryder’s boat and credited Ryder for helping create the company.
Carter also noted that there was a “nice surprise” set for tonight’s TNA Slammiversary but that the larger changes she was talking about earlier this week would not happen at the PPV tonight but would take place in a few weeks and when it did, it would change things for TNA. Carter noted she was excited for it to take place.
During the party, Mike Johnson of PWI had the chance to talk with Carter, who confirmed the “changes” she was talking about earlier in the week would not be a sale of the company to a new owner. She also shot down a theory that it could be a network television deal for TNA. So, you can scratch those theories off the list. Carter said everyone who know in a few weeks.
The party itself was organized by Bob Ryder as part of the “Slammin’ Celebration”, which saw fans from 18 States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Great Britain descend upon Universal for the PPV.

My biggest worry now is that if Carter waits too long, people will build it up too much & it’ll never live up to the hype. By the time Dixie tells us, people will be theorizing that it will be that the booking team will now be Paul Heyman, Jesus Christ & Jim Ross and that the Rock is returning to wrestling for TNA, lol.
