I know I know, you were all wondering where I have been with my weekly blog appropriately named the Monster Blog?? Well wonder no more as I am back and ready to blog away and share my thoughts and feelings with all of you about some of the current events and affairs not only in TNA, but in the world as we know it. I missed you guys a lot too and I am energized and ready to kick the Monster Blog into high gear as we approach Slamiversary!!! That’s right everybody….the 8th anniversary of TNA Wrestling is almost here. Wow..I can’t believe its been 8 years since the birth of TNA. I have been here with TNA for all of them and let me be the first to tell you that each one has been bigger, better, and more spectacular than the one before and this year is shaping up to fall right in line with the past 7 Slamiversary’s. For me, as well as some of the other TNA originals such as AJ Styles and James Storm just to name a couple, Slamiversary has a very special and signigicant meaning that runs far deaper than just our premier summertime pay per view. Slamiversary to me represents all of the dedication, perserverence, and determination that TNA has exhibited over the past 8 years to continue its growth and maturation into a strong and relevant wrestling company. One that I am more proud of than anything else in my life. You see, when we started, all the critics and so called pundents said that TNA couldnt and wouldnt work. They said it would never make it 6 months….then they said a year…..then it went to 2 years…..and then 3 years. And here we are 8 years later and TNA is stronger now more than ever. We proved to EVERYONE that we belonged by our hard work ethic, drive, and unwillingness to accept defeat. We have over come all the odds and continue to prove that hard work ethic and pride can make great things happen. I can hardly wait to see the growth of TNA over the next 8 years. I’ll have more about Slamiversary over the next couple weeks as we get closer to June 13 and the anniversary of my home…TNA Wrestling.
Ok, ok, I know you all want to know exactly what I’ve been doing with Chelsea since I won her from Desmond Wolfe back at Sacrifice in May. I know you all were wondering what plans I had for the prissy and snobish valet of one of Englands finest. I’ve got to admit, I’ve had some really awesome ideas of different ways to humiliate and make her life miserable. And yes some of the ideas have been quite crazy. Some of them however, were even a little too extreme for this Monster!!!! Well to tell you the truth, and I can’t believe I am saying this, but she is not nearly as bad a person as I thought. After last week’s Impact where I was shoved into her practically knocking her out, I found myself in a position where I was actually concerned for her!!! That is a feeling that I have not had very much of in my life. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a physical attraction like I had with my former girlfriend Lauren. It’s a mutual respect thing. When I sat with her after she regained consciousness, we talked and since then I have learned that she is actually a pretty dyanamic woman…..except she has terrible sense of choice when it comes to choosing a man. Desmond Wolfe is a man with a target on his chest and I am the one who put it there. Watch out Desmond cause I am coming to get you at Slamiversary.
I want to dedicate the rest of this blog to the great states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama along with all the great and resilient citizens of these states as well. The oil spill in the gulf that has been going on now for over 40 days threatens so much to a region of the United States that has already suffered so much. Only in the past, like with Hurricane Katrina, these setbacks have been caused by mother nature. As angry and sympathetic that we all were during the Katrina disaster, we all realized that it was out of the control of us mere mortals and in the hands of a higher power. This current disaster in the Gulf of Mexico however is not the result of mother nature, but rather HUMAN nature. As I write this blog and think about the current disaster facing this country and specifically the Gulf coast states, I find myself getting more and more angry. As I watch the updates on CNN in regards to the effort to cap the leak and listen to the experts and 4 million dollar CEO’s and Presidents of BP Oil and others responsible for the safe operation of this oil rig, I become insensed with anger and questions that result. With our technology, how can we not figure out a way to plug a leak yet we can put a man on the moon??? I mean this is becoming ridiculous. Its been over 40 days since the tragedy began. By now, over a third of the Gulf of Mexico is unfishable. The threat to wildlife and fishing industry is a reality that will eventually and unfortunately bankrupt most of that region causing ripple effects to the rest of the nation. A nation already reeling from a battered economy. I mean, I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to the millions of people and industry that are going to be stricken from this catastrophe. Its already been reported that the oil rig in question had quite a few citations for safety violations dating back several months. There were signs that this rig was not safe and was, in fact, heading for danger. Apparently, these were ignored. This is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. Someone must be held accountable. Someone must make reperations to this country and the specifically to the people of the Gulf States. It seems to me that no body wants to be the party in question that comes out and “mans up” to what they have done wrong. It’s ridiculous and embarrasing to watch quite frankly. It seems that everyone involved, specifically BP and the makers of the blow out preventers that failed in this case, have been more busy trying to cover their behinds and point the finger than they are in aiding in the clean up and capping of the well. Our government distanced themselves from BP at the beginning of this week as well they should have. Our government is finally realizing that this event can not be tolerated. It is finally setting in that this catastrophe could have and should have been avoided. It will undoubtedly set this region of the country back a quarter century when it comes to pollution and contamination clean up efforts. Our government has said that criminal charges may be pending against those specifically responsible. I absolutely agree. Any wrong doing or negligence on behalf of any party involved in this tragedy should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. These inproprieties have not just affected a few, but rather a few million people to say the least and will cost billions in cleanup. The good news, if there is any, is that this region of the country and the people who live in it are fighters and are not going to let this tragedy slow them down or stop them from returning the Gulf of Mexico to its original beauty and resource to this country. As the people of this region proved with Katrina, NOTHING will take their pride or fighting spirit away from them. This is going to be a trying time for all these coastal residents and if history proves true, like in Katrina, we will see the best and purest of all human qualities when the chips are down…..LOVE. Love is going to be what makes all these clean up workers come together as one to save the wildlife and birds that are going to eventually be covered in oil. Love is going to be what helps all the residents of the coastal states come together to fight this problem together and return the Gulf states to some sense of normalcy. Love is going to be what it takes by all citizens of this country to assist in any small way to help. Make no mistake about it, this tragedy will once again bring out the best and the love in all of us. It’s just too bad that it takes a tragedy such as this one to see this quality often times. I hope the people responsible for this occurrence begin to see this sooner than later. It will begin to heal the wounds that have been caused by this irresponsible behavior and reaction. And Oh, by the way, dropping BP stock and boycotting BP products are how I intend to show my “love” for people who show blatent disregard for this planet, country, and its people.
Ok sorry about that venting but that has been on my mind all week and I needed to share my thoughts as I find it helps me to deal with things. I guess maybe I did learn something good from Dr. Stevie afterall. That’s all for this week everyone! I’m excited to be back with the Monster Blog. Tune in next week for the next edition. Bye bye everybody!!
