ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Hundreds of fans got their fill of the non stop action at TNA’s wrestling event at the Civic Center Friday night. One Albany man has a very special connection to these professional athletes, and he got a chance to meet one of his favorite wrestlers.
TNA Wrestling fans are unique. They cheer, they boo and they freeze in anticipation. Joey Willock has been a fan of Total Nonstop Action since it started nearly eight years ago. He doesn’t hold back.
“Everyday and every Thursday night I watch TNA and I’m the biggest TNA wrestling fan ever,” Joey said.
TNA Founder and wrestler Jeff Jarrett is one of his favorites. As these guys cut each other no slack, neither does Willock as he meets Jarrett.
James Storm the Tennessee Cowboy enters the ring and Willock gets a front row view of it all, even off the rink where Storm hits and slaps the Abyss right in front of us.
It’s the attitudes and crowd interaction that even gets the women on their feet.
“It’s very entertaining to watch and I get into it at home and I’m sure I’ll get into it here,” said Heather Giddens.
Same for the children who made sure to grab autographs before. The ropes, slams, and beat downs kept Willock on the edge of his seat all night. Total Nonstop Action is what Willock will always remember about this night.
12 wrestlers took the stage including the founder Jeff Jarrett. TNA recently signed Hulk Hogan. He was not at the civic center but he’s planned to show up at future shows. TNA also took donations and raised money for the American Red Cross.
