A rumor is circulating around the interwebs that claims TNA is bringing in an outside consulting firm to study the TNA audience. The rumor states that the consulting firm will look at TNA’s television viewership patterns and weekly ratings. It should also be noted that WCW used to utilize this type of analyzation to study their viewers and those results informed their booking decisions to some degree.
Joe’s Comments: I’m a big numbers guy so I endorse the idea of metrics and studying patterns, etc. However, I think that these numbers can only take you so far in professional wrestling. Professional wrestling has that certain “it” factor that you can’t quite put your finger on and thus can’t really measure. However, I would be interested in seeing the end result of these efforts. Should be interesting.

Joe I agree totally. Metrics can be useful, but if memory serves me correct the Glacier character in WCW was a result of an analysis of WCW fans. The problem Glacier had no charisma or style. I believe Kanyon as Mortis was over very well as a heel so the concept was not all bad it’s just the talent has to be there to execute.
