It was a very good match. RVD as champ will surely bring more attention to TNA from WWE fans.
My only grip is they shoved 4 weeks worth of title chase into one program. It made for a great show no doubt. But I really think TNA has to slow down and build some angles, I just don’t see building a consistent audience by this week to week booking. I am pulling hard for TNA to succeed and would have loved to have seen a program where Hardy and RVD had perhaps a best two out of 3 bouts for the title shot, Styles could have been the heel spoiler of 2 different victories, the third and deciding bout would come on the Impact prior to the PPV and then RVD could go over on the PPV.
Still a much better show than last week. If this doesn’t pop a rating they are going to have to seriously rethink their programming strategy.
I read some rumors today that the RVD vs Styles was scheduled for the next PPN but was bumped up do to the RAW crew being stranded. In this case I can see TNA’s reasoning as sound and the higher ratings bear that out.
