Hulk Hogan is conquering UK TV.
Since joining TNA Wrestling, the grappling legend has been wrestling British fans away from rivals WWE to watch the company’s flagship show ‘iMPACT’ on satellite channel Bravo.
Viewing figures for the programme, which airs on Saturday nights, has increased by 150 per cent in the first 11 weeks of 2010, compared to the same period in 2009, and up 190 percent compared to the last 11 weeks of 2009.
TNA President Dixie Carter said: “TNA has remained committed to the United Kingdom’s wrestling fans far past our annual ‘Maximum iMPACT!’ tours, and it’s beginning to show. The UK is ground zero in the battle to make a change for wrestling fans across the globe.”
Since Hulk Hogan joined TNA (Total Nonstop Action) Wrestling, fans have witnessed him take on fellow legendary wrestler Ric Flair and have seen his pop star daughter Brooke Hogan – who has her own reality TV series ‘Brooke Knows Best’ – feature in main storylines.
The show averaged just over 133,000 viewers a week through March in Britain, and as well as ‘iMPACT!’ on Bravo, UK fans can also watch ‘TNA Xplosion’ and monthly TNA pay-per-view events on the Extreme Sports Channel on Fridays.
As well as multi-time world champion Hulk the company’s roster is bursting with wrestling greats including Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Kurt Angle and Sting.
