PLAY BY PLAY:
RANDY COUTURE VS. MARK COLEMAN
R1 – Both fighters trying to establish the jab. Couture lands two hard lefts and follows with a knee then pushes Coleman to the fence. Some dirty boxing uppercuts from Couture. Couture keeping pressure on Coleman, probably trying to wear him down, throwing short punches and knees to the body as he presses.

R2 – Couture starts punching and drives Coleman to the fence and takes him down. Couture lands in full mount and starts raining down blows. Coleman gives up his back and Couture secures the rear naked choke for the finish.

CHAEL SONNEN VS. NATE MARQUARDT
R1 – They start firing right away. Marquardt moving in and out, Sonnen quickly going for the clinch and trading knees. Sonnen shoots and Marquardt locks on the guillotine choke. Sonnen pops out and starts his ground and pound attack. Sonnen landing some hard punches and forearms, working back and forth between head and body. Marquardt’s pops out and gets up, but gets immediately taken back down. Sonnen goes right back to ground and pound tactics. Sonnen landing some heavy shots. Marquardt staying busy, trying to minimize the damage, but Sonnen keeping him down and landing heavy shots.

R2 – Sonnen immediately takes Marquardt down and starts his ground and pound attack. Marquardt locks up an arm, possibly trying for a Kimura. He gives it up and Sonnen starts trying to punch again. Marquardt cuts Sonnen with a sharp elbow from the bottom, but Sonnen gets up and starts diving in with hard punches. Marquardt goes after Sonnen’s leg, looking for a submission. Sonnen bleeding badly. Marquardt on all fours, throws several back elbows into Sonnen’s face. Sonnen attacking from Marquardt’s back, but looking tired. Marquardt escapes and gets up, but Sonnen gets after him and takes him down again, dropping elbows from half guard.

R3 – Sonnen again gets Marquardt on his back right away. Sonnen working the body with hook punches, then jumping up to the head. Marquardt’s head pinned against the cage. Marquardt tries to get up, but Sonnen again keeps him down. Sonnen’s punches losing steam, Marquardt gets out and up, lands a guillotine and takes Sonnen down, but somehow Sonnen escapes. Marquardt reverses to top position, Sonnen on his back in a north-south position. Marquardt lands a couple hard shots as the round closes.

PAULO THIAGO VS. MIKE SWICK
R1 – Thiago lands a head kick to get things going. Neither fighter taking a lot of chances early. Swick landing a short combination of punches. Thiago showing some power with a hard punch that lands. Swick moving around a lot, but doesn’t seem to be in a good rhythm. Thiago looking more relaxed. Swick takes Thiago down, landing in his guard, but doesn’t do anything with it before the round ends.

R2 – Thiago lands a low kick and follows with a solid kick to the body. Swick comes back with a big right hand, but gets clipped by a left hand from Thiago and goes down. Thiago follows Swick to the mat and locks on the D’arce choke for the finish.

DAN MILLER VS. DEMIAN MAIA
R1 – Miller starts with a flurry of punches, but doesn’t really land much. After a short feeling out process, Maia shoots and backs Miller to the cage. He can’t get the takedown and they’re back center cage. Maia goes for high kick, but Miller comes back with a hard right hand. Maia lands a solid body kick and scores the takedown, but Miller is right back up. Miller takes a low knee to the groin and eats several follow up punches before referee Steve Mazzagatti steps in to call time. They spend the rest of the round basically trading single shots, both punches and kicks.

R2 – They come out striking before settling in a groove. Maia is dictating where the fight goes, landing the cleaner shots, though Miller is getting his licks in here and there. Hard straight left from Maia, and then a stiff right jab. Miller starting to show a little wear from the blows. The pace slows a bit, but Mai is showing good timing and hand speed. Miller starting to press a little more now, but having trouble finding his mark.

R3 – Breaking from the first two rounds they clinch against the fence. After separating, Miller catches Maia and puts him on the mat, but Maia comes right back up and takes Miller down. With Miller pinned against cage, Maia stands in his guard, landing punches. Miller gets up. Maia misses his first attempt, but gets Miller down on a second attempt, landing in his guard. Maia moves to half guard, implementing a slow ground and pound tact. Miller doing a good job minimizing any damage as the round closes out.

FRANK TRIGG VS. MATT SERRA
R1 – Both fighters looking to establish the stand-up game, Trigg more accurate early on. After some dancing around, Serra ducks in with a right hook that floors Trigg. He immediately follows up with several hard shots to the head for the stoppage.

JUSTIN BUCHHOLZ VS. MAC DANZIG
R1 – Danzig comes out punching, Buchholz kicking, neither landing much early. Just as Buchholz seems to be getting a rhythm going, Danzig lands a couple hard rights and a knee to the body, throwing Buchhol off his timing. Danzig follows with a flurry of dirty boxing uppercuts. Buchholz comes back with some well timed punches and knees of his own, swinging momentum to his favor. Just as Danzig lands a right hand, low kick combo, Buchholz comes back strong, unloading strong set of combinations that backs Danzig up. Danzig lands a hard right and drives Buchholz to the fence, landing several shots to the body.

R2 – They start trading. Danzig searches for takedown but can’t get it. They exchange a few more punches and then Danzig gets the double-leg takedown and starts working ground and pound from side control. Buchholz manages half guard and starts working for a Kimura, but Danzig defends, getting back to side control. Danzig gets full mount, but Buchholz manages to escape into Danzig’s guard. Danzig starts driving his elbow into Buchholz’s skull and manages a reverse to full mount, unloading punches and elbows as the round ends.

R3 – Danzig lands a punch and kick then goes for the takedown. Buchholz gets right back up and they start trading, both landing right hands. They wind up clinched on the fence. Danzig goes for a throw, but misses and ends up on his back with Buchholz in his guard. Buchholz ties Danzig up and the ref stands them back up. Danzig quickly lands a combination of punches that stuns Buchholz a bit. Danzig continues landing punches, nothing big, but cummulative. He gets Buchholz down, and takes his back, then moves to mount and starts punching away. Buchholz gives up his back. Danzig goes for the choke, but can’t sink it as the round ends.

RONYS TORRES VS. MELVIN GUILLARD
R1 – Torres scores an early double-leg takedown and starts working from side control. Guillard escapes back to the feet. Torres again gets Guillard down, but is quickly reversed and they’re back to their feet. Guillard lands acouple hard leg kicks, but Torres is having a hard time finding his mark. Guillard lands a knee to the face as Torres shoots, but Torres continues and gets the takedown and starts working from Guilllard’s guard. Guillard works back to his feet, eating a couple shots from Torres before the round ends.

R2 – They come out swinging. Guillard misses with a flying knee, then Torres scores the takedown. They get up with Guillard awkwardly perched atop Torres’ shoulders before dropping down to standing and looking for openings. Torres eats a knee as he’s shooting in, hangs on and goes for the takedown, but Guillard shucks him off. Nice low kick, straight right combination from Guillard. Clinched on the fence, he follows with a couple hard knees before they separate. Torres goes for another takedown, but Guillard rolls to guard and then quickly reverses position to land in Torres’ guard. Guillard lands a hard shot from standing as the round closes.

R3 – Guillard strikes first with a hard right hand, then sprawls out on a Torres takedown. They trade a few strikes, Guillard much quicker and landing more, but Torres scores a takedown, landing in side control. Guillard eventually is able to escape and get back to standing where Torres lands a punch combination, then eats a hard straight right from Guillard. Torres manages to get Guillard down again and starts working his ground and pound game. Guillard gets up, but gets immediately taken back down, only to reverse Torres and land a few good punches before the bell sounds.

ROB EMERSON VS. PHILLIPE NOVER
R1 – Emerson knocks Nover down and starts working ground and pound from his guard. Nover doing a good job defending, tying up Emerson. Nover manages to secure a guillotine, but Emerson escapes. They scramble for position, Emerson ends up on top punching. They manage to get up to the feet, but end the round clinched on the fence.

R2 – Nover comes out kicking, eats a wild right hand from Emerson, then gets put on his back when he tries to shoot. Emerson starts mauling him with heavy punches from standing before dropping down into side control. Nover manages to get his full guard back and then work his way to the feet, where they are separated. They land simultaneous right hands, but then Emerson quickly follows with a hard right hand and knee combination. They clinch and Nover ends up on his back, Emerson working from guard before the round ends.

R3 – They wind up clinched on the fence early and stay there trading knees, before separating and moving to the center of the cage. Emerson again puts Nover on his back, but Nover is able to work his way back to his feet and locks on a standing guillotine. Emerson sits down and eventually works his way out of the guillotine. Emerson eats a knee upon standing back up, but they separate and start trading single punches and kicks. Nover lands a left knee to the chest as Emerson shoots in. They scramble for position as the round ends.

PHIL DAVIS VS. BRIAN STANN
R1 – After dancing around a bit, Davis shoots and presses Stann to the cage, where they exchange knees before moving back to center cage. They each throw a few single punches and kicks, but Davis shoots and scores a takedown. He manages to take Stanns back, switching back and forth to front mount and back mount as Stann tries to find a way out. Davis takes up position on Stann’s back and lands several punches before the round ends.

R2 – Stann mounts a small flurry to start the round, but Davis is patient, starts kicking and then shoots and lands a double-leg takedown. He quickly works his way to full mount and starts in with forearms, but Stann gets him back to half guard. Davis moves back to mount, Stann again flipping back and forth trying to escape, Davis all the while punching. Stann nearly escapes, but Davis cradles him and drives knees into Stann’s ribs and punches to the head.

R3 – Davis shoots and takes Stann down. He gains mount and attempts and Americana, but can’t land it. Davis continues from mount, punching Stannd, and then moving to his back, although he can’t seem to find the choke. Stann continues turning over and back, but Davis keeps riding it out, throwing pot shots here and there, keeping Stann down. Davis goes for an armbar in the waining moments, but can’t lock it in before the bell.

CHRIS TUCHSCHERER VS. TIM HAGUE
R1 – Tuchscherer presses Hague to the cage, lands a couple shots, but they’re quickly back to center cage. They exchange a few hard shots before Hague lands a knee to the groin of Tuchscherer, who is backed to the cage. They exchange a few more blows before Hague lands a hard left that stunned Tuchscherer a bit. Tuchscherer goes for the takedown and gets caught in a standing guillotine, but is patient and escapes. Tuchscherer presses Hague against the cage and lands a few knees to the thigh before the round ends.

R2 – Tuchscherer gets Hague down early and starts ground and pounding. Hague manages to get up, is caught briefly in a guillotine, but they quickly separate. Tuchscherer lands a couple good stiff jabs and a heavy right hand. Both guys starting to look really tired, getting sloppy with their punches and kicks. Hague tries a jumping knee but gets caught mid-air and pushed to the fence. Hague lands a few good punches to end the round.

R3 – Hague looking to push the pace, opens up a flurry of punches on Tuchscherer, landing several hard shots. Tuchscherer shoots, gets reversed and taken down. Hague lands a few good shots, but gets put into guard. Hague tries to move to mount, but Tuchscherer is countering. Hague moves out to the side and starts punching to the head. Tuchscherer gets out, but immediately gets put back down on his back. Hague is slow in his attack, but starts a Kimura attempt, can’t get it, and the round closes.

JOEY BELTRAN VS. ROLLES GRACIE
R1 – Gracie immediately starts working for the takedown, while Beltran defends and they clinch on the cage. Gracie finally manages to wrestle Beltran to the ground and quickly takes his back before transitioning to full mount. Beltran bucks and reverses into Gracie’s full guard before backing out and forcing Gracie to stand. Beltran catches a kick and counters with a hard right hand. Gracie catches Beltran with a couple solid right hands, but eats a few shots as well. They go toe-to-toe with some sloppy, wide punches for a bit, neither fighter doing a lot of damage. The round ends with Gracie going for a takedown, but taking numerous hammerfists to the head.

R2 –Beltran stuffs another Gracie takedown attempt, clocks him with a right hand and a follow-up knee to the head, but they’re quickly back to their feet. Gracie continues to try takedowns and falling to guard, crowd booing. Beltran stuffs another takedown and starts an all out ground and pound assault until referee Herb Dean stops the fight. Gracie left laying on the mat not able to get immediately to his feet.
