Mick Foley introduces himself and says that we are here to look at one of the greats, a man who has over 12 world championships, Kurt Angle. First up is Angle’s TNA debut against Samoa Joe.
Angle says the debut with Joe was exciting and an honor, since Joe was undefeated. Joe agrees that it was a great moment and says that they were both looking to send a message. Angle says they feuded a lot, but the first match was his favorite.
For the sake of the recap, we will be using the PPV recaps that myself and Chris Lansdell have done over the last few years.
FROM TNA GENESIS 2006 – Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle
They circle to begin, lock up and to the corner they go. They battle around the ropes and 22 seconds in we have a this is awesome chant. They break, lock up and a take down by Angle. Ankle lock try and Joe gets the ropes. Lock up and knees by Joe. Jabs to Angle, and then boots by Joe as Angle is down. Joe grabs Angle, more jabs. Off the ropes and a boot and overhead belly to belly by Angle! Clothesline by Angle and Joe falls to the floor. Joe snags Angle from the ring by his legs and SLAMS him into the railing headfirst. Back into the ring and Joe covers for 2. Forearms by Angle, Irish whip and Angle misses a charge and SLAMS into the post. Running charge by Joe and the ELBOW SUICIDA connects! Joe runs Angle around the ring and slams him into the steps. Joe back in the ring and he and Earl have a shoving contest as Angle tries to recover on the floor. Angle is up and BUSTED open where he had the bandage on from Thursday. Joe lays the stiff boots to the head of Angle as he crawls back in. Joe rips at the cut now as Angle pours blood. Joe wipes the blood on his chest, Angle fights back, off the ropes and Joe gets the snap powerslam and cover for 2. Cross faces by Joe, crowd way into it. Joe grabs Angle, he fight back and off the ropes…tilt a whirl back breaker by Joe gets 2. Joe stalks Angle and just pummels him in the corner. Joe sets Angle up top…chops to Angle. Angle slaps back and then gets a front face lock on Joe. Joe picks him up and Angle gets a sweet tornado DDT on Joe. 1…2…NO! To their feet and they exchange rights. Joe in control with jabs, misses a charge and a German by Angle! Another! Joe fights but Angle gets a release on that one and drops Joe on his head, Angle covers for 2. Angle slam countered and the running knee of doom by Joe! Sets Angle up top, leaping Enziguri by Joe! Muscle buster try….CONNECTS! 1…2…NO! Crowd loving the match, Joe grabs Angle, clutch try but Angle rolls and gets an Angle slam! 1…2…NO! Angle up, STRAPS DOWN! Grabs the leg, ANKLE LOCK! Joe fights…Joe rolls and kicks at Angle but Angle holds on. Joe continues to fight, rolls and slips Angle into the clutch! Angle is trapped, he tries to break the hold and gets the ankle lock again out of the clutch! Angle rips at the ankle, Joe fights, he rolls and Angle hits the corner. Joe misses a charge, eats the post. Angle slam! Straps up….STRAPS DOWN AGAIN! Ankle lock by Angle and he drops down into the grapevine! Joe struggles for the ropes and JOE TAPS! JOE TAPS! JOE TAPS!

Angle says that this was another favorite match is his, and says AJ is the most talented guy that he has ever been in the ring with. He also says AJ will be “top three” all-time when his career is over.
FROM TNA HARD JUSTICE 2008 – Last Man Standing: AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle
They are doing the Texas Death Match rules, pin fall and then they have to answer the count of 10. Angle stalls and keeps going to the floor. AJ wants to fight and keeps calling him on. AJ finally chases him after Angle spits on him. Angle back in first, lands uppercuts and then rights in the corner. Angle chokes out AJ with the boot, a slam by Angle and a cover for 1. He works the chinlock of hate on AJ, who escapes and gets chops and rights on Angle. He lays the boots to him, choke shim out but Angle then rakes the eyes. Uppercuts by Angle, but AJ gets the counter combo into the dropkick and then clotheslines Angle to the floor. SENTON DIVE by AJ, and he then covers Angle on the floor for 2. AJ slams Angle off of the apron, and then to the barricade. Stiff kicks by AJ to the chest of Angle, back in the ring and more kicks by AJ. A slam followed by a knee drop from AJ and he covers for 2. Angle manages to pull AJ to the floor and follows. Slams AJ to the barricade, whips him and AJ leaps the barricade and then dives onto Angle, gets caught and Angle gets an overhead belly to belly into the barricade! Angle covers for 2, and then slams AJ to the steps. Rights by AJ, chops and unloads on Angle. They brawl up the ramp and more rights by AJ where the cut from Thursday is. Angle tries a suplex, but AJ gets one on the ramp. AJ covers for 2. They fight on the stage now, rights by AJ and Angle is rocked. Angle suplexes AJ off of the stage! SENTON DIVE BY ANGLE! Psycho. Angle covers for 2. Rights by Angle as he drags AJ to the ring and then slams AJ off of the announcers table. Back in the ring and Angle lays the boots into AJ. Side back breaker and a cover for 2 by Angle. Back to the chinlock goes Angle, AJ fights to his feet and takes Angle to the corner. Enziguri by AJ. Kicks to Angle now, chops follow and a whip, counter and AJ avoids him and chops Angle down. Overhead belly to belly by Angle! A slam by Angle and right into a cover for 2. Side headlock by Angle as he tries to keep AJ down. AJ fights, works to his feet and escapes. Chops to Angle, rights, lefts and knees by AJ. Off the ropes and they collide as they both went for a cross body. They trade rights, a clothesline by AJ, another and a third. A whip, AJ tries to counter and to the apron he goes. Springboard shoulder block by AJ. Torture rack by AJ! AJ spins it into a powerbomb and covers for 2. AJ picks up Angle, clash try countered and Angle gets the ankle lock. AJ escapes, gets a spinebuster and then goes up top. Angle runs up, AJ knocks him off and tries a RANA, powerbomb by Angle, rolls and tries the clash but AJ gets the ankle lock! Angle gets the ropes, but AJ pulls him back and grapevines the leg! Angle taps @ 17:00.
The ref counts on Angle, he works to his feet and is up at 9. AJ to the apron, rights to Angle, back in and more rights by AJ. AJ misses the back flip DDT and a LOW BLOW by Angle. German by Angle, another and then a third. He hangs on and gets a sick release German on AJ, and he covers for 2! Straps are down! Angle calls AJ a pussy and calls him on, Angle slam countered and a PELE by AJ! AJ covers for 2. AJ crawls and goes up top now. Angle over, rights to AJ and then climbs up with him. Elbows by AJ, Angle down and Angle runs up and gets a SICK SUPER GERMAN! 1…2…3!
AJ was pinned @ 21:00 and the ref counts, but Angle with an Angle slam and pins him again. The ref counts on AJ again, AJ is down and crawls for the ropes. Angle grabs him, AJ counters the Angle slam into the clash! 1…2…3! That pin came @ 23:00 and the ref counts on Angle. AJ is up and Angle is up at 9. Corner shoulder block by AJ. Sets Angle up top, follows, they battle and Angle looks for a suplex, AJ head butts him and DDT’S ANGLE OFF OF THE TOP ROPE! AJ covers for 3 @ 24:00. The ref counts again, AJ is up and Angle cannot answer the count. Awesome sauce.

– Since coming to TNA, he has had to make adjustments. The wrestlers are more athletic, talented, and younger. They are the best and are hungry.
– As far as what he wants to accomplish still, he says he is proud of what he did in WWE and TNA, but he goes out there to perform for the loyal TNA fans.
FROM TNA GENESIS 2009 – Jeff Jarrett vs. Kurt Angle
Recap from Chris Lansdell….: They start off tattooing each other. Jarrett with a stiff whip and Angle hits hard. A second hard whip. Jarrett looks even more like Sewell tonight. Angle reverses a whip, sleeper by Angle! Jarrett with a low blow to break it then an electric chair drop! Angle gets clotheslined to the outside and Jarrett follows! We cut to the back and Rhyno is destroying a locker room! He’s here! I blame Csonka, who has not been online all night and lives in the Charlotte area. Meanwhile back at the motel, Jarrett is acquainting Kurt with the barricade. Repeatedly. BEER to the face of Angle! Angle is thrown back in, Jarrett follows and gets knocked off the apron teeth-first to the railing! Angle out and rams Jarrett into the steps, then rolls him in. The crowd are alive now. Crisp suplex by Angle gets a 1. Boots by Angle, a backbreaker and a cover gets 2. Rear chinlock by Angle, Jarrett escapes and hits a boot to a charging Angle before being taken over with the belly to belly for 2. European and back to the chinlock. Jarrett gets out again but Angle with forearms to the back and an Angle Slam try…countered to an arm drag! Angle charges JESUS that was high! Angle backdropped to the outside! Here comes Jarrett for a suicide dive…OH MY GOD IN HEAVEN JARRETT’S DEAD! His foot caught in the rope and Jarrett landed on his face!!! Whip is blocked and Angle sends Jarrett careening over the announce table!!! Angle has the ring bell! OH SHIT he nailed him!!! Literally caught him flush on the forehead with the wooden edge of the bell and Jarrett is bleeding. Ooooh he caught a gusher. Jarrett has a Flair look to him as Angle beats him up the ramp…DDT on the ramp by Jarrett! Dude is bleeding everywhere. Jarrett takes Angle’s head to the scaffolding of the set and it appears Angle is cut open now. Jarrett is bleeding so much it’s hard to tell. They tease Angle going off the stage, but Angle catches Jarrett’s shot and ANGLE SLAM OFF THE STAGE THROUGH A TABLE TO THE FLOOR! Gentle jumping Jehosaphat. Both men are crawling back to the ring, both men appear dead and both men look determined to kill the other. They exchange atomic rights as both men are on rubber legs. Jarrett explodes with a series of fists, clotheslines…PEDIGREE!!?!?!!!???!!! 1…2…2.7! Jarrett tries the Stroke but Angle rolls through into the Ankle Lock! Jarrett fights for the ropes but Angle drags him back to the center! Again Jarrett tries for the ropes, then he rolls through the lock and sends Angle outside. Angle throws away the timekeeper and has a chair! Dropkick by Jarrett sends the chair to Angle’s face! STROKE! 1…2…2.688! Jarrett positions Kurt for the superplex, Angle blocks with shots to the ribcage…MISSILE DROPKICK by Angle! Angle Slam! 1…2…2.885! Great match. Down come the straps, Jarrett counters the Ankle Lock again and Angle charges and hits the corner post shoulder first! Jarrett has the guitar!! Angle counters with a low blow that sent both nuts for a field goal! Angle has the guitar now, then gets the chair in the other hand. He asks the crowd which to use then just kills Jarrett with the chair to the back of the head. 1…2…2.905! Angle believes the ref is mistaken, Jarrett has recovered somewhat and tries a kick, caught by Angle. Enziguiri but Angle ducks and turns it into the Ankle Lock!!! Jarrett teases the tap out and seriously, the Sewell resemblance is eerie. Somehow Jarrett gets up to one foot and rolls through! 1…2…2.925!!! Angle Slam countered to a DDT! Jarrett is up and he has the guitar again, but it’s broken. Boo! He gets the chair instead, Jarrett stalks Angle, sells the ankle and creams Angle. Both men are down. Jarrett slides over for the pin and gets 2. Reversal out of nowhere! 1…2…3! THAT is how you do the surprise ending.
