SoCal Val welcomes the viewers – there are over 900 viewers within the first minute. Val throws it over to Jeremy Borash and Don West who talk about Angelina Love‘s return to TNA Wrestling during iMPACT!
Jeremy Borash stresses that they are live and that anything the fans write on TNA’s Twitter account will be right before Borash and West. Don West talks about how they are live from the arena where “Slapshot” was filmed live and give a quick shot of D’Lo Brown in the backstage area of the house show.
Don West hypes an upcoming deal that he has for the fans from ShopTNA.com which, as he calls it, may be the best single deal that he’s ever put together. We shall see.
Borash reads some tweets (I hate that word) regarding Angelina Love’s return to the iMPACT! Zone tonight. There is a brief discussion about how The Amazing Red has no set opponent for the Genesis pay-per-view this weekend before Borash throws it to a break at 11:06pm EST. There are over 1,100 viewers at this point in the show.
Val welcomes us back from the short break reminding everyone how they can interact with the show via Twitter and other online sources. West goes over his special deal of the night – a brand new Sting t-shirt plus four DVDs, something about Kurt Angle and Desmond Wolfe autographed pictures, something else – I can’t follow. Lots of advertising on these pre-iMPACT! and post-iMPACT! shows…not a good way to get people excited for new shows. After 11 minutes, nothing of substance has been covered and I’m about ready to turn this thing off. Viewership has maintained at slightly more than 1,100.
Somewhere along the constant string of advertisements a “call” from Dixie Carter comes in saying that West has to stop reducing the prices so much. This is really painful to both watch and listen to… Fifteen minutes and nothing of substance. What a wasted opportunity.
Random question – Why would TNA have this post-iMPACT! show for an hour on the same night that Epics is debuting on Spike TV? Huh?
After they finish hyping the merchandise (for now), they begin selling the Genesis pay-per-view again and talk about how Ric Flair was a huge surprise last week on iMPACT! Borash announces that there will be a surprise guest on tonight’s show coming in shortly.
Val joins in the hyping – this time they’re all talking about Borash’s backstage passes at TNA live events. We’re 18 minutes into this thing and there is nothing worth listening to at this point. This special guest needs to come on very soon. About 20 viewers have signed off at this point in the show.
A fan asks whether or not a pay-per-view will come back to a previous town where one was held (I think they’re talking about Detroit). Borash says that he doesn’t know. That was a waste of a question. Borash and West then hype how exciting live shows are in TNA. West and Borash spend about one minute recapping some of the big events from tonight’s iMPACT! before West starts selling products again and Borash starts talking about the upcoming London tour. West then begins selling the Sting package again. Viewership is down by about 100 since the high a few minutes ago – I have to imagine that the constant sales job by West and Borash is what turned off those 100 viewers. We’re below 1,100 viewers at this point.
The constant yelling by West and Borash comes across very badly on this UStream format. Lots of audio feedback when they yell – not very entertaining to listen to… And they go to a video break.
After about a half an hour of listening to this wasted opportunity, I’m not going to pay as close attention to the online show. Plus, I’m missing out on some amazing Kurt Angle matches on Epics right now!
Val welcomes us back from break. They talk about how great it is to have all of these great newcomers to TNA. Borash says that he has been telling everyone that every show seems to be the biggest night in TNA history.
Jeff Jarrett is the special guest. Jarrett says how they set a record tonight on the amount of merchandise sold tonight, which none of us can be sure of the way that the last half hour has been a huckster fest.
They joke a little bit about how they’re losing money on the Don West deals tonight.
At about 11:37pm EST, we’re at 1,050 viewers – down from the high of almost 1,200 shortly after the show began. Jarrett talks about how there are a lot of egos walking around the TNA locker room these days; most of this is Jarrett in character. They constantly interrupt themselves to tell Don West to “stop” giving away all of these free deals. It’s very annoying that they keep hucking the product.
Jarrett talks about how he thinks that wrestling fans could very close to watching wrestling every night of the week because of technology like we’re seeing on UStream. Borash says that during WCW Live’s hey day it was the number one streaming video show on the internet – beating out even Rush Limbaugh.
A question is asked about what Jarrett thinks of Bubba the Love Sponge. Jarrett feels that Bubba has a lot to contribute to TNA and how he brings the Bubba Army with him, which is important.
Borash talks about when he met Baron Von Raschke as a five year old kid.
Now Jarrett is talking to West about their “insane” Sting deal available only tonight… Viewership is now hovering around 1,000.
A fan asks what Jarrett thinks about Hogan and Bischoff telling him that he has to wrestle just like everyone else. Jarrett responds that he doesn’t mind and that he’s going to do what he has to do.
Another fan asks which celebrity Jarrett thought was the best in the history of TNA. Jarrett thought that Toby Keith was the best, but he got confused over whether Gary Coleman or Beetlejuice had been on the show. A final question was asked about what Jarrett thinks about the coming year for TNA. Jarrett thinks that this year is going to be huge for TNA and that there are great things to come after they hit the ground running after the 1/4 iMPACT! Show.
Jarrett announces that he will be appearing on Danny Bonaduce’s morning show on WYSP in Philadelphia, PA tomorrow morning.
At the 51 minute mark, they cut to another break as the viewership now falls slightly below 1,000.
As the show winds down, Val and Borash run down the Genesis pay-per-view.
