or those wrestling enthusiasts looking to get close to the excitement, the superstars of Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling will be in Johnstown on Jan. 14.
Special ringside seats are available at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena, 326 Napoleon St., beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The wrestling superstars are invading Johnstown for an unforgettable night of action.
“TNA Wrestling is different from other wrestling organizations because we offer a six-sided ring that gives wrestlers more angles and allows for faster-paced action,” said Chris Thomas, TNA publicist.
The wrestlers on the Johnstown card are some of the biggest names who appear on “TNA iMPACT” each Thursday on Spike television.
Highlighting the program will be a TNA World heavyweight championship match between current champion “The Phenomonal” AJ Styles and Daniels.
“We will have three title matches,” Thomas said. “Along with the heavyweight bout, we have a TNA world tag team championship match between The British Invasion and Beer Money Inc.”
The third title match, TNA Knockouts tag team championship, features Awesome Kong and Hamada and the Beautiful People.
Thomas said it doesn’t hurt that TNA offers some of the sport’s best female athletes who are drop-dead gorgeous.
“Nothing is more exciting than seeing the Beautiful People wrestling Awesome Kong, who is over 6 feet tall and weighs 230 pounds,” Thomas said.
Another bout features a grudge match between The Monster Abyss and Dr. Stevie.
Rounding out the card will be superstars TNA founder Jeff Jarrett, The Hardcore Legend Mick Foley, Black Machismo Jay Lethal, The War Machine Rhino and Homicide.
The arena show is an interactive entertainment experience that sends its wildest fans backstage to meet the TNA superstars.
“About 15 minutes before the first bout, ring announcer Jeremy Borash will hide a backstage pass at the arena and show its location on Twitter message,” Thomas said.
There will be other opportunities throughout the evening to get a backstage pass.
Backstage passes give attendees the opportunity to meet and greet the wrestlers, have their picture taken or get an autograph.
“That takes place during an intermission and prior to the two final bouts,” Thomas said.
“At the end of the evening, all the talent returns to the ring so people should bring their cameras.”
Fans also will have a chance to step inside the six-sided ring and have their pictures taken with AJ Styles and his belt.
“How many people can say they stood on the pitcher’s mound at Yankee Stadium with one of the world’s best pitchers, or at center court with Kobe Bryant for a photo opportunity?” Thomas asked.
“This is that kind of opportunity.”
There is a nominal fee for the photo.
Tickets are $25, $35 and $50.
All $35 seat ticket purchases will include a free TNA DVD, redeemable with tickets the night of the show.
Tickets are available at Ticketmaster locations, www.ticketmaster.com, the Cambria County War Memorial Arena box office or charge by phone at (800) 745-3000.
