The word going around is that the televised iMPACT! interaction between Hulk Hogan and Jeff Jarrett did not come across as intended. Due to a combination of some inside references and talking points getting cut from the promo and the mere fact that TNA is considered Jarrett’s “turf,” the feeling was that the segment actually made Hulk Hogan come off as carrying a heelish attitude–an account by Dave Meltzer, for instance, directly said that Hogan cut a “heel promo” on Jarrett. That was not the goal of the exchange.
A story on PWTorch.com says that the initial vision for the segment had Jarrett coming across as being more self-congratulatory and destructive, thereby prompting the fans to rally behind the Hulkster.
