News Corporation, the parent company of FOX, and Time Warner cable, struck a deal Friday night.
Details of the deal were not announced. FOX had been wanting $1 per cable customer from Time Warner Cable as well as Brighthouse Cable, while Time Warner had been offering between 25 and 30 cents per customer.
FOX did not pull programming at midnight last night as the sides continued to negotiate, but the threat was there to pull the programming tonight, with the key being Sunday’s NFL games.
Some FOX stations had struck private deals with local Time Warner systems for a fraction of the $1 per customer demand by News Corporation.
The key markets that these negotiations affected were New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Tampa and Orlando.
