Last night’s episode
of TNA Impact with the final build-up to the Turning Point PPV averaged a 1.14 rating with a first hour 1.15 rating and second hour 1.13 rating.
The second hour peaked at the top of the hour with a 1.22 rating, then steadily declined throughout the hour before averaging a 1.08 rating for the final 15 minutes of the show with the A.J. Styles vs. Samoa Joe main event.
Quarter-Hour Notes
— The show’s most-watched 15-minute segment was the third quarter-hour, which featured the debut of Jim Niedhart against Jay Lethal. Impact’s most-watched stretch was the third-to-fifth quarter-hours, which contained Lethal-Niedhart, the Knockouts eight-person tag match, the Angle-Wolfe angle, and the X Division six-man tag match.
— The show’s least-watched 15-minute segment was the final quarter-hour yet again. TNA is struggling to compete against other programming for viewers in the final 15 minutes. TNA presented their World champ, A.J. Styles, against Samoa Joe, but only gave the wrestlers five minutes of TV time and arguably did not do an effective job building up to the main event throughout the show.
— This week’s Impact opened with the exact same quarter-hour rating (1.10) as last week’s Impact despite last week’s show having a hook for Dixie Carter’s speech to open the show. this week’s show opened with a random Mick Foley-Super Dave Osborne segment and Dr. Stevie vs. Abyss.
