Impact opens with a recap of the events that transpired at Bound for Glory. The Impact intro then hits and the pyro goes off and we head into the Impact Zone. Mike Tenay and Taz welcome us to the show that will feature and Ultimate X Match between the Motorcity Machine Guns and Lethal Consequences to see who will earn a shot at the tag team straps at Turning Point. The British Invasion will also defend the TNA Tag Team Titles against Beer Money in a Six Sides of Steel Match.
Kurt Angle’s music hits as he comes down to the ring by himself. Angle says that it is one year to the day since the Main Event Mafia had come together. Angle goes on to say that they were misunderstood in the beginning and says that it wasn’t about job security, but it was about respect. Angle explains that he has seen growth in the younger talent on the roster and puts over Eric Young, AJ Styles and Matt Morgan as examples. Angle says he now considers them as his peers and is willing to fight the same fight.
Rhino’s music then interrupts and he comes down to the ring and says that he cannot believe what he is hearing. Rhino says that the MEM is no more as Booker T is gone and TNA management also wants them gone. Rhino says management is behind AJ Styles, Matt Morgan and Hernandez, not them. Angle suggests that maybe they earned it but Rhino wants no part of that. Rhino says that when the younger stars got an opportunity, they just tossed him aside and let Bobby Lashley take his place.
Team 3D starts making their way down to the ring but is held back by security. Rhino says that Team 3D is hanging with guys who want to replace them. Rhino tells them to go back and look at tonight’s card as they are not on it. Team 3D try to storm the ring but are held back by security and Angle. Rhino says he will stand in the ring until fight until he breathes his last breath and will not let TNA management to get rid of him.
Lauren is in the locker room with AJ Styles and Daniels and asks them about their thoughts on what just happened. Styles says if Angle is sincere, then it is a benefit to TNA as it is them against the competition instead of warring with each other. Lauren then says that the main event for Turning Point has already been signed and it is Styles defending against Daniels and Samoa Joe. Daniels says their match will exceed all expectations from their first match five years ago. As for tonight, any questions about who’s at the top of their game will be answered in the ring when they take on Joe and Kevin Nash.
After a commercial break, Lauren is backstage with Raisha Saeed. She will be taking her on in the ring and Saeed says she has the upper hand as she knows what she will do before she even does it. Saeed says that Kong is her puppet and she will destroy her tonight.
Mike Tenay and Taz run down tonight’s card that will feature Awesome Kong against Raisha Saeed, plus tag team action in the Six Sides of Steel and in an Ultimate X Match. There is then some commotion in the entrance tunnel as Homicide is delivering a beat down to Amazing Red. There are scheduled to fight and this match will be starting now.
Match 1: Homicide vs. Amazing Red
Homicide rolls Amazing Red into the ring to get this match started and continues on the attack. The announce team mentions that Red trained at Homicide’s wrestling school as Don West comes down to the ringside area to rally the crowd behind Red. Homicide, though, keeps the match in his favor and tries to score a pin fall while using the ropes for leverage but the referee catches it and stops the count.
Homicide gets in the referee’s face and Red uses the distraction to turn the momentum. Red takes Homicide down with a hurricanrana and nearly picks up the pin fall hitting a modified Canadian Destroyer. Soon after, Homicide is able to counter a move and hit the Gringo Killer for the pin fall over the X Division Champion in the non-title match. Homicide then gets in Don West’s face and demands a shot at the X Division Title.
Lauren is backstage with Scott Steiner who says the Main Event Mafia still exists and says there will be one as long as he is around. Steiner says Angle lost his mind when he gave all the young guys credit and says they still have to earn it in his eyes. He says the first person he is going to beat up is Mike Morgan.
Match 2: Matt Morgan vs. Scott Steiner
Prior to the match, Scott Steiner stands in front of Kristal Lashley and does a little pose for her and offers her to be with a real man. The bell then rings to get this match started and Steiner gains the early advantage by taking Morgan out at the knees and uses his power to wear him down. Morgan, though, comes back with a series of clotheslines but Steiner regains the advantage on the outside after sending Morgan into the guard railing.
Steiner again stops by Kristal Lashley and grabs her hands and places them on his chest so she can touch a real man. Bobby Lashley then runs out and rams Steiner’s head onto the announce table as they start to fight on the outside. Lashley then rolls Steiner back into the ring and Morgan takes him down with the Carbon Footprint and picks up the pin fall.
Lauren is with Awesome Kong who says that she will take no more orders from Saeed and she will finish her tonight.
After a break, Lauren runs to Bobby Lashley and apologizes on behalf of TNA. Lashley says Scott Steiner needs to apologize to Kristal and he is getting himself into a game that he doesn’t want to play.
Match 3: Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash vs. AJ Styles & Daniels
That match begins with all four brawling in the ring with Styles and Joe staying in the ring and Daniels and Nash going out to the floor. The match then settles down with Styles and Daniels working over Joe until Joe connects with a big boot and a senton backsplash on Styles. Joe and Nash then use quick tags to wear down Styles until Styles fires back and connects with a flying forearm on Nash.
Styles tags in Daniels who comes in and goes up against both opponents and nearly picks up the pin fall on Nash. Joe tries to bring a chair into the ring but Styles hits a moonsault off the apron to stop Joe from making it to the ring. The distraction causes Daniels to look away as Nash comes back and delivers a chokeslam and picks up the pin fall to win the match.
Lauren meets up with Nash on the ring entrance and says he is not concerned about his victory but wants to warn Eric Young that he is coming for him for stealing his title and his money.
Eric Young interrupts Jeremy Borash’s TNA mobile promo and says that he is not hard to find. He says he is the leader of the most dominate group in TNA and says that he has an announcement for next week that will shake the foundation of TNA.
Lauren is backstage with the Motorcity Machine Guns and Chris Sabin says their opponents may have an advantage as they pulled double duty at Bound for Glory, but it will be irrelevant as they will be the ones that pull down the X. Alex Shelley says it’s the first time they have been given an opportunity and they will make the most of it by making people pay attention to them.
Footage of the Beautiful People is aired as they are filming their newest reality show called Meanest Girls. They head to the catering tables and get into a food fight with Taylor and Sarita and get the best of the Knockout Tag Team Champions. Velvet Sky says there will be a sequel next week.
Match 4: Raisha Saeed vs. Awesome Kong
The bell rings as Saeed uses her speed and quickness to run away from Kong before going after her knees. Kong, though, uses her power to knock Saeed off her feet. Kong heads to the middle rope but Saeed gets up and sends her down to the canvas. Saeed then tries a high risk move, but Kong puts up the knees and counters the move. Kong then hits the Implant Buster and picks up the pin fall.
After the match, Kong pulls Saeed out of the ring and drags her up the ramp and then powerbombs her through the set at the top of the ramp. Kong then walks away as TNA trainers come out to check on Saeed.
Match 5: Rhino vs. Hernandez
Team 3D is at the announce table for this match. The match starts and Hernandez quickly dumps Rhino out to the floor and hits him with a suicide dive over the top rope. Rhino takes control after the match heads back into the ring but misses with a diving head butt. Hernandez makes a comeback and hits a powerbomb but Rhino is able to kick out. Shortly after, Hernandez hits a splash from the top rope and picks up the pin fall victory.
After losing the match, Rhino gets up and attacks Hernandez from behind before hitting a belly-to-belly suplex. Rhino then goes for the Gore, but Hernandez sidesteps him and sets up for the Border Toss before Team 3D slide into the ring to stop him. Team 3D calm him down and he leaves the ring before doing anything more to Rhino.
Jeremy Borash is in the MEM locker room with Kurt Angle who again puts over the younger stars and says that Rhino is lacking confidence after saying what he said earlier. Angle then says that he will get his title shot next month. A man enters the picture and introduces himself as Desmond Wolfe and says he is a huge fan of his and says he became a wrestler and joined TNA because of him. Angle welcomes him aboard before Wolfe brutally attacks him and walks away.
After the attack, the announce team recaps what just happened between Wolfe and Angle and Taz mentions that Wolfe was formerly known as Nigel McGuinness and made an impact in his debut.
Match 6: Lethal Consequences vs. Motorcity Machine Guns (Ultimate X Match)
The winner of this match will get a shot at the TNA Tag Team Championships at Turning Point. The bell rings and all four go up the sides before stopping to take each other down. The Guns send Lethal Consequences out to the floor as Shelley tries to head over to grab the X but he is pulled down by Creed. Creed then tries for the X, but is pulled down by the Guns.
Lethal Consequences get back into the match and work over the Guns and Lethal tries to scale the side but is stopped by Sabin. All four head to the same corner and fight on the ropes and the steel structure as Lethal is able to slide across the rope as Creed holds the Guns in the corner. Lethal makes it to the middle but Sabin is able to kick him down to the mat.
Both teams go back and forth and hit a series of huge moves on each other and the Guns take out both Lethal and Creed as Sabin able to crawl to the X. Jay Lethal, though, gets up and pulls Sabin down before hitting the Lethal Combination. Lethal then goes after Shelley but the Guns are able to recover and they hit a sliced bread #2/powerbomb combo on Lethal.
After landing, Shelley favors his knee as Sabin heads for the X once again. Creed jumps onto the ropes but it is too late as Sabin was able to take the X down and win the match. The Guns then celebrate their victory by holding the X in the air.
Lauren is backstage with the British Invasion who go on about being the best tag team in TNA. Brutus Magnus says that this will be their last shot at the titles and he gives them a “sorry about your bloody luck.”
Jeremy Borash is with Beer Money for a rebuttal, who wonders why they even agreed to this match as there will be no where to run and hide with no interference from Rob Terry. James Storm says the Six Sides of Steel is their home away from hom and gives them a “sorry about your damn luck.”
Match 7: The British Invasion vs. Beer Money (Six Sides of Steel for the TNA Tag Team Championship)
Robert Roode and Doug Williams go back and forth in the opening moments of the match. The Brits get the early advantage and the two work over Roode and use the cage to their advantage. Roode finally hits a spinebuster on Magnus and finally tags James Storm into the match.
Storm takes out both members of the Invasion and this match breaks down with all four in the ring. Doug Williams climbs to the top of the cage and Storm goes up after him before all four hit a tower of doom with Williams taking the brunt of the fall. Beer Money then hit the DWI on Williams but Magnus stops the referee’s count and slaps him down to the mat.
A couple of referees step into the cage and Earl Hebner calls the match and disqualifies the British Invasion. Beer Money is livid as they realize that they lost their one chance at winning the TNA Tag Team Championships.
Kurt Angle is seen walking in the back with his wrestling gear on as we head to a commercial break.
Lauren is in the parking lot with AJ Styles who says nothing happened between him and Daniels after their match. He is then attacked from behind by an unknown attacker with a shaved head. Mike Tenay and Taz both are at a loss as to who it was.
As the TNA crew is taking down the Six Sides of Steel, Kurt Angle walks out to the ring and calls Desmond Wolfe. Wolfe doesn’t come out and Angle heads back up the ramp but is taken out by Wolfe from behind. The two begin to fight with Angle rolling him into the ring but Wolfe kicks Angel between the legs and hits a neckbreaker from the top rope. Wolfe goes out and grabs a chair and puts it over his neck and says that he wants him to think about it and says that his name is once again Desmond Wolfe.
