Hey I’m alive and well. Thank you all for your concern through out the weeks. I’m happy to say that I think by Tuesday I will finally get the house back to myself because all the painting will be done. I went most of this week without the computer during the day since the painter needed to unplug it. I feel so bad that I have been away for so long but I’m back and hopefully for good starting Tuesday or Wednesday. I wanted to make sure I got on here this weekend because I want to share my wonderful Summer Slam predictions with you. I am looking so forward to the show and you will see what match is the match that I really cant wait to see. And through out the week I have received some very good predictions from many of you. And for those of you that haven’t sent me your picks feel free to send them to me. Okay so without anymore stalling here’s my Summer Slam predictions.
World Champion Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match
This has to be the match of the night; in fact this match is one of the main reasons why I made sure to order the show. This feud has been outstanding from day one and every time these two interact in or out of the ring they have been fantastic. Well you just know that this TLC match is going to be off the charts and I’m getting excited just writing about it. Okay the latest is that Jeff is gone after this coming Friday’s Smackdown. I am going to miss Jeff so much because in the last few years he’s really become a main eventer. For me Smackdown won’t be the same without him. And as of now CM Punk is THE best heel in the WWE. This is going to be brutal which is my kind of match. I see Punk winning and after his victory he’s going to just go after Jeff more and more which I think will do two things. One, Jeff will announce his retirement on the following Smackdown due to severe injuries, and two, the violent attack that Jeff got from straight edge Punk will bring Matt into the mix. And we will then get another Hardy/Punk feud. Just sit back and enjoy this is going to be a MUST see match.
Winner: CM Punk
WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena
In my opinion, this feud really has gone nowhere it never took off. Just like Hunter vs. Orton, I am already sick of Orton vs. Cena. I’m not interested in this one, but I do see a title change. I am going with Cena for the win, and even though this sounds crazy, I think after one more rematch between Cena and Orton, Randy will move on to a non title feud with Mark Henry. The reason I am saying that is because it seems to me that they have been throwing Henry in Orton’s face for a few weeks now. So I could see that happening. Now back to this title match, I’m sure this will be a decent match, but nothing more than something you would see on Raw. Hey I could be way off and this could turn out to be a lot better than my expectations.
Winner: John Cena
ECW Champion Christian vs. William Regal
I think it’s kind of cool that William Regal is not only on a pay per view, but going after Christian for the ECW title. If you watched ECW this past Tuesday then you saw what looks to be a new stable with Ezekiel, Kozlov and Regal as the leader. Now I would think that those two guys would do all they could to get the belt on Regal. But I am staying with Christian since he just got the belt back last month. I’m not saying that Regal’s group won’t get out there and cause some damage, but Christian will remain ECW champion. I think this will be another match that not pay per view quality. It will be more like something that we see each week on ECW, but no matter what look for both men to put their all into this one.
Winner: Christian
Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & Chris Jericho vs. Cryme Tyme
I said this last month and I will say it again, there is no way that Jericho and Show will lose. Jericho still means a lot to Raw so Cryme Tyme will have to wait before they get these tag team belts. Listen one thing about Cryme Tyme is that they have shown me a lot in the ring. I’m very happy with their push that they have finally received and I look forward to a very good match. I think Big Show should kiss Edge’s feet for not being on due to his injury because being Jericho’s partner is probably the best thing that has happened to Big Show since he came to the WWE.
Winners: Chris Jericho and Big Show
Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler
I think it’s time for Dolph to beat Rey and leave with the IC title. But does Vince think it’s time? That’s the question. This one is a very tough match for me. I really believe Ziggler needs this victory, but something tells me that Rey isn’t ready to drop that belt. So I’m going out on a limb and I think Mysterio will hold on just a little longer and Ziggler will go for a third try and that’s when he will become the IC champion. Last month I expected a better match between these two, so tonight I say they will put on a really hot match. I look for this one to turn out very good.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
Triple H & Shawn Michaels vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase
I absolutely loved Legacy beating Hunter and Shawn up on Monday’s Raw. That was one hell of a segment. Now if it were up to me, Rhodes and DiBiase would win tonight and really make DX wonder what the hell they have to do to take out Orton’s buddies. But I can’t see the latest DX return ending in defeat, so I think DX will win, but you have no idea how much I hope that just like Monday DX is left laying flat on the mat. I want DX to take these two guys seriously. I don’t want this feud to become comedic like DX vs. The Spirit Squad. Rhodes and DiBiase need to be taken as a threat. Then the feud will really have some meaning to it. I think this will be one of the better matches of the night.
Winners: DX
The Great Khali vs. Kane
This feud is like every other feud we have seen with Kane in the past few years. I’m not really looking forward too. All I can say about this match is that I hope it’s short and I see Kane defeating Khali.
Winner: Kane
MVP vs. Jack Swagger
This could have been one HOT Raw feud, but instead of these two getting a really good build up leading to tonight’s show, the feud started out strong, then it seemed like the whole thing was dropped, and then it was brought back again. I think MVP and Swagger have a lot to offer and if these guys are given enough time we should see a very solid and entertaining match. Swagger is a damn good heel and I’m very happy that he and MVP are being used tonight. I will go with MVP for the win and then hopefully these two will continue and get a chance to make this a worthwhile feud on Raw. Trust me Raw could use a fresh feud.
Winner: MVP
This really looks like a good card and I really hope that I have nothing but good things to say about this show and tomorrow’s Raw. Let’s see Floyd Meriwether is hosting and if he’s half as good as Shaq, Seth Green, Ted DiBiase, Sr. and Freddy Prinze, Jr., then I think we are in for a good show. Remember keep your predictions coming in and look for my Raw and Summer Slam column Tuesday or Wednesday. And again thank you all for sticking with me while I disappeared these past few weeks. I really appreciate it.
