Before the bout, CM Punk cut a long promo to the live crowd, blaming single-parent moms and dads for allowing their children to be Jeff Hardy fans, pointing out Jeff’s demons to the live crowd. While the promo didn’t get much heat, Punk was tremendous here.
After a somewhat boring match, Christian pinned Tommy Dreamer following a killswitch to become the new ECW Heavyweight Champion. The two hugged after the match.
This was followed by the first Jericho/Big Show promo. The two aren’t friends apparently. Really? Jericho claimed choosing Show was his best business decision. Didn’t he say this for Edge, too? Big Show claimed they will be the best tag team champions ever, but Jericho took it one step further, claiming they’d be better than Hart Foundation, British Bulldogs, and Road Warriors. The artist formerly known as Y2J ended by thanking Edge for making this possible.
