As documented on the site today, Monday Night RAW is set to take place in the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, next Monday night. This became a huge controversy today, as it became clear the Denver Nuggets will need the building that night for their Game 4 of the Western Conference Final against the Los Angeles Lakers.
You can find all the events that have taken place regarding this issue at our site. Ultimately, the Nuggets’ ownership came off really bad at the end booking an event in their building and not even for a moment considering the possibility their team actually might play in the Western Conference Finals.
The final update on the whole situation is that although WWE is not saying this publicly as of this writing, no travel plans within the company have been changed. WWE is well aware, however, that they can’t run the Pepsi Center on Monday.
It seems like there are two options to choose from for the wrestling show’s side of things. They can tape RAW on Saturday night in Salt Lake City at the house show that is booked that night, which is the less likely choice. The other, more likely option, is that WWE tapes RAW in Colorado Springs on Monday, which is where SmackDown! is set to be taped on Tuesday. This choice guarantees a much larger crowd, as the Saturday choice doesn’t allow the company to put tickets on sale until late. Either way, switching tickets would be a problem, but it is more likely that a good percentage of the people who purchased tickets for the original Denver show would make the 70 mile drive to Colorado Springs if a change takes place.
We’ll keep you updated on the situation.
