Although not officially confirmed, Ric Flair is expected to be at tonight’s Raw in Louisville, KY. The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online is reporting that Flair was expected to take part in a short-term program with the company. This is more than likely a result of the interview he took part in where he stated he was sending text messages to WWE’s John Laurinaitis offering his services with the company having a few top stars out of action (Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Triple H). Flair does want to wrestle and has publicy stated this. Reaction in WWE to that is mixed as many feel it will ultimately be up to Vince. The company is said to be concerned with the drop in ratings for Raw and look at Flair as a big ratings draw so bringing him in right now only makes sense. Triple H is still expected to be kept off TV for several more weeks and using Flair seems to be the plan.
ESPN has now published an article regarding the controversy between the NBA and WWE. The Pepsi Center in Denver, CO has been booked since August for Monday Night RAW, cites the WWE, but is now in jeopardy of being canceled because it would interfere with Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between the Los Angeles Laker and Denver Nuggets.
