Dave Meltzer is reporting today that Bobby Lashley has not actually signed a contract with TNA just yet, at least according to several people in his camp. The debut on PPV this past Sunday was just to get both sites “acquainted with eac other.” If Lashley does end up signing a long-term deal, he would still like to do MMA on limited basis. The TNA schedule would allow him to do the right amount of MMA training.
Further, Lashley has been negotiating a deal with Strikeforce, and is also looking at a contract for a potential huge fight with none other than Bob Sapp. If the bout were to happen, it would be held in Biloxi for boxing promotion Prize Fight Promotions (they would be oding their first MMA card), and it would take place on June 27, 2009. Gilbert Yvel vs. Pedro Rizzo is also on the card.
While neither Lashley nor Sapp have signed the deal, Lashley was able to do so as early as today while Sapp commented earlier on Monday that he’s reviewing the contract and “Hopefully, I’ll be there.”
