FTNNews.com has an article looking at the economic effect that WrestleMania has on the city that is hosting it. Some fun facts about last year’s WrestleMania: Nearly half (47 percent) of the 75,000 spectators flew to Orlando for the event, non-local fans spent $8 million on accommodations and $4.5 million at restaurants, fans came from all 50 states and 22 countries and the average stay for visitors was four nights.
For those wondering, the pricing for WWE WrestleMania 25 on Sunday, April 5 will run you $55 for the standard definition broadcast, while the high definition broadcast will run you a large $65.
Anthony Valvo sent this in: First time I wanted to mention something. I was watching ESPNews just now and they had John Cena on the Hot List promoting both Wrestlemania and his movie 12 Rounds. The brief time I watched it they mentioned his action movies, the transition of wrestler to actor (which is not too hard he said), and any signs of him retiring (he plugged Curt Schilling’s retirement during that portion). I do not have a link to it, but I am sure it will be on ESPN sometime this evening.
