There were two announcements missing from tonight’s Monday Night RAW that left many people scratching their heads. Although the company posted an article on their website about the death of Andrew “Test” Martin, they did not mention his passing on RAW once. The usual “In Memory Of” graphic at the beginning of the show that they use to honor someone after their passing was non-existent, and Test was not mentioned once in the broadcast.
The second announcement the company did not purposely make was that the newest inductees into the 2009 WWE Hall of Fame class are the members of The Von Erich family. It should be noted that four of Fritz Von Erich’s five wrestler sons died before their 34th birthday.
Apparently the reason both announcements weren’t made on RAW is because WWE is paranoid over getting bad publicity out of the Andrew “Test Martin case. With WrestleMania just around the corner, the higher-ups in the company are afraid that any negative pub can badly hurt the buy-rate for the show, which seems will be low as it is. While some may believe it’s a classless move, it’s what they went with.
