Quinton Jackson turned down the fight with Rashad Evans due to medical reasons as he’ll need a surgery on a jaw injury suffered at the hands of Wanderlei Silva in December.
Thus UFC confirmed today that the main event for UFC 98, live from Las Vegas on May 23rd, will be Rashad Evans vs. Lyoto Machida, with Quinton getting a shot at the winner later this year.
The injuries Quinton has to get time off for are both torn ligaments in the jaw and a hyper-extended left elbow. He’ll have surgery next week.
