Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE contacted Wendi Richter about participating in the Women Battle Royal at WrestleMania, which was made official tonight on RAW. Wendi said “it was 75% and she will do it.”
Richter, one of wrestling’s most famous women fighters, was in a WWE ring for the last time 23 years ago. That night in Madison Square Garden, she was fired shortly after being double-crossed during a Women’s Championship match with Fabulous Moolah. She fought under a mask as “Spider Lady” and the company was mad at the time that she hadn’t signed a new long-term contract, which cost her the title and her job.
