Please be aware that things are changing on daily basis this year. In fact, this is the first WrestleMania I can recall, where following the No Way Out PPV, not a single match was known to the audience. Traditionally, we knew almost all matches by the end of No Way Out, and at least one or two big ones following the Royal Rumble PPV. WWE is trying to play the “Watch and See” card, but it might cost them money at the end. Here is the current card for WrestleMania as of this writing:
* Edge (c) vs. John Cena — World Heavyweight Championship
— This will most likely stay, or have people added to the mix.
* Triple H (c) vs. Randy Orton — WWE Heavyweight Championship
— This was actually the plan for a while now. The two were supposed to wrestle a few years ago at WrestleMania and it was to be Orton’s big night, but Randy screwed up at the time and Batista got his spot. I think we might be headed for a Triple H win here.
* Money in the Bank Ladder Match
— This will feature whoever doesn’t have a match. It seems Mysterio will be the big name thrown in, although there are talks of matching him up with CM Punk. It’s likely they’ll both end up here.
* Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker
— It’s been talked about for a while and even Jim Ross brought it up on his blog. It was HBK’s desire all along. It will most likely end up being one of the best matches that night.
* Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy
— Grudge match.
* Chris Jericho vs. The Legends?
— The plan all along was for Chris Jericho vs. Mickey Rourke. The problem is that Rourke was told not to wrestle at ‘Mania because it would hurt his chances to win an Oscar. Now, WWE is hoping to change his mind after this Sunday’s Oscars are over. If that doesn’t happen, they might have to put Flair in his spot, or come up with something. As of last night, Jericho was told he’ll have a big match, but WWE has no idea where this is going.
This still leaves a few big names without a match, so there will definitely be more bouts added.
