Last night on Larry King Live, Mickey Rourke and Chris Jericho both appeared to promote Rourke’s appearance at Wrestlemania 25. Rourke discussed his comeback and said the highlight of the experience was that the wrestling community had embraced the film, bringing up Ric Flair and Vince McMahon in particular.
Jericho appeared via satellite and said that Rourke did a great job and “made no mistakes” in his role of Randy the Ram. Jericho said the film made a nice representation of the minor leagues and what it’s like on the way up and the way down, but not what Jericho does in WWE. He said Rourke made a mistake calling him out on the red carpet of the SAG Awards. Jericho said there’s a difference between playing a wrestler and being one in real life. He said Rourke got some bad advice and his story would end differently if they stepped in the ring.
Rourke said “he may have put his foot in his mouth.” Rourke said wrestling was Jericho’s world and he wouldn’t step into it but could take Jericho in a “boxing match or a bare fisted match.” Jericho smirked and said Rourke should be careful what he wishes for because he may just get it. Rourke said he was going to take the high road and said that he respected Jericho. Jericho responded saying that he wasn’t going to do that and didn’t respect Rourke. He warned Rourke that he might think he knows the wrestling world but he really doesn’t.
Jericho closed out saying, “I’ll be seeing you, Mister Rourke. I’ll be seeing you.”
