Following bad ticket sales, WWE ruined their tradition and announced the first member of the 2009 WWE Hall of Fame Class early. It also happened to be this year’s main inductee, as Steve Austin is going in. The company then decided to do a second pre-sale of tickets hoping that announcement would sell out the ceremony by itself. Keep in mind that since WWE has brought back the Hall of Fame, every ceremony has been an instant sell-out.
Whether it’s the tough economic crisis we’re in, or Austin’s popularity decreasing, or not at the same level as compared with Bret Hart (curiosity factor) and Ric Flair (history in the making), there are plenty of seats available for the ceremony after the second pre-sale. Several websites are pointing out that when Bret was inducted a couple of years ago, it was harder to find tickets for the Hall of Fame ceremony than for WrestleMania.
