There has been a lot of talk as of late concerning Vince McMahon’s behavior towards Hulk Hogan. Several wrestling web sites have reported of McMahon’s hatred towards Hogan’s Celebrity Wrestling show, with WWE going as far as burying Brutus Beef Cake on their web site and threatening they own the rights to the name. Another incident was on Monday’s RAW during JBL’s promo on Shawn Michaels, where Layfield warned HBK that he’s on the road of becoming a washed-up wrestler going around high school gyms to take Polaroids. This was believed to refer to Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, who are booked to appear in a big gym in a few days. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter also reported of Vince’s rage when Hogan’s show is brought up.
As it turns out, part of the reason McMahon is furious with Hogan — other than the bad blood between them since Hogan’s last run — is Hulk’s constant refusal to do WWE’s Tribute to the Troops show, which he has been invited on just about every year. Hogan’s reasoning this year is that his divorce has become a “full-time job” as ProWrestling.net reports.
