– WWE Hall of Famer “Captain” Lou Albano, 75, was scheduled to appear at an indy show in Brooklyn last Saturday, but the promotion said he was unable to make it due to recently breaking his leg, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
– In J.R.’s latest column on WWE.com, Ross made note of tension backstage in the SmackDown Diva locker room. Ross wrote: “Do you know the most cunning and dangerous area of the SmackDown arena before show time? That’s easy; it’s the Diva locker rooms. I’m hearing some interesting stories coming out of those locker rooms and they are not overly flattering. Ross also says Jerry Lawler recently purchased a new mansion in Memphis.
– Linda McMahon appeared on the Fox Business Channel yesterday to discuss WWE’s third-quarter earnings. McMahon said WWE has plans to reduce its operational cost structure by $20 million next year as a result of “softening” in the national economy. McMahon stated, “We’re managing our bottom line better.”
