“The Ultimate Fighter 7” cast member Matthew Riddle (1-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has suffered a serious knee injury that will force him out of his Nov. 15 UFC 91 bout with Ryan Thomas.
Riddle, who was slated to make his welterweight debut in the un-televised preliminary fight, will soon undergo a second MRI, a representative from his management team today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
It’s believed Riddle suffered an ACL injury or possible meniscus tear, which could sideline the 22-year-old fighter well into 2009.
According to a report in The Wrestling Observer, Matt Brown will step in to replace fellow TUF 7 cast mate Matt Riddle at UFC 91. An injury forced Riddle out of the scheduled bout with Ryan Thomas.
Brown will now step in with a little under two weeks left before the fight.
The event takes place in Las Vegas and will feature a main event of Brock Lesnar challenging Randy Couture for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.
