Various reports are making the rounds right now stating that Ring of Honor has started very (and we stress very early) preliminary talks regarding the company getting a national TV deal.
The expectation at this point is that whatever outlet they are in discussions with is that it isn’t the kind of deal that has enough exposure right now that would put them on the map as any kind of a competitor to TNA for the No. 2 spot, but it would be another big step for the company. Getting a TV deal would allow the company to significantly upgrade production of the big shows.
One report has stated that ROH owner Cary Silkin’s main goal in the last year or so was to find the company a TV deal while realizing the company needs a legitimate partnership in order for a deal like that to take place. It should be noted that in the past ROH has spoken with networks like Versus, G4 and MavTV, but none of the discussions went past the early stages.
While the announcement of landing a TV deal isn’t expected anytime soon, it is becoming more of a possibility and will be something to watch for in the next year or less.
