As expected, it was announced in an interview MMArated.com conducted with Tom Atencio that Fedor Emelianenko will face Andrei Arlovski in the first company PPV event of 2009. The one thing Atencio couldn’t confirm was the date and location, although as we’ve pointed out on this site, the January 24 date seems most likely with the Honda Center in Anaheim as the likely location. The match will be five rounds, for the WAMMA World Heavyweight Championship, and it is expected this show will be an all-MMA event, despite their deal with Golden Boy to do cross-shows.
