Edge is expected back on WWE television pretty soon. While his body had been taking a toll as of late and he was banged up from the Hell in a Cell match, there was never a serious injury that caused him to be taken off TV. WWE wanted to give him some time off and mostly sell the ending of the HIAC match with Undertaker, where Edge was “taken to hell” by being set on fire as he disappeared under the ring. They also wanted to keep him off TV until Undertaker was established in a different storyline.
The plans as they currently stand are for Vickie Guerrero to take The Big Show to the WWE Championship, thus he’ll be feuding with the champion (HHH or whoever it is) when this all plays out. There’s no word as to what Edge’s role/feud will be, but causing Triple H or Jeff Hardy the WWE title is a good guess.
