Ok, so here’s the deal, my laptop needed to be repaired this previous week. So as a result, I was not able to submit my RAW thoughts. And, that is a damn shame too. Last week’s RAW for me was excellent, 5-star. Is it a coincidence that it just happen to be the first time we saw Randy Orton since his injury? I’ll let you decide on that. But man, this was his show last night and he nailed every part of it. Whether it was his golden opening segment, or his slap to the face of Cody Rhodes, Orton could do no wrong. Some other things to add, Santino maybe had his greatest cuts I have ever seen with the Honk-a-Meter, and the closing of the show with Rey Rey returning was great and also we saw a phenominal promo at the end with Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. I absolutely cannot wait to see this match at Unforgiven. I only hope that they don’t tone down the match a little bit with this injury HBK suffered on that nasty fall. That was very hard to watch, but hopefully he’ll be great condition for the match.
Now enough of RAW, let’s get to Smackdown! I want to start off first with R-Truth. First off let me say that I’m glad he got a better reaction from the crowd this week. Now maybe it was because he came through the crowd, I don’t know, but last week they were dead. They actually planned this match the right way this time. This time it was still a short match but understandalby so. However. this time he was the one dominating the match and showing off his in-ring ability unlike last week where he had little offense. Something that confuses me a little, is that for weeks they showded us these vignettes where he is sort of this calm, serious, second-chance like guy and he’s out here break-dancing and rapping. Now, I don’t really have a problem with this I thought that this was what seperated him from the other guys, I just get too much of a reminder of K-Kwik. But, overall, pretty good match to start the show.
Now when I first saw that MVP would be facing Shelton Benjamin I thought, wow this is going to be a great match for the viewers. And in the beginning, it was. We saw the match turn personal quickly, big time hits, and a prime example of these two guys ability. Just like that though, the match was over with a Paydirt from out of nowhere. I didn’t really get this, let these two go at it. The main reason that I think that they didn’t make this one go long was that these are two heels and they feared the crowd siding with one guy as if he was a face. That’s actually more likely to happen here because these two each have a decent sized fan base. So, not really a big deal, I’m not that happy about it but whatever I’ll stop whining.
Maryse, Maryse, Maryse… now I have always thought that she was the most stunning Diva on Smackdown, very hot. Last night, I became more of a fan. The pat two weeks she has delivered two strong promos, with last night’s being better. She has improved her wrestling ability over the last month, including that lovely hair flip DDT, and in my opinion deserves to be in this match at Unforgiven. While we are on the Diva’s let me ask you guys something. Does anybody feel the need to have Brie Bella aka The Bella Twins? So far it’s such a bad concept. I mean when they switch, we don’t see a difference in wrestling ability. They’re both poor. Victoria deserves better then what she does. She use to be the top diva and deservingly so. Now she is embarresed and a jobber.
Normally, a match so pointless as the Ryan Braddock/Super Crazy match, I wouldn’t even bother mentioning it. But this was so pointless it made me very angry. WHO THE HELL CARES ABOUT THIS? There’s no match between the two at Unforgiven. This is a dark match, keep it that way. If the point of this was to lead into Kozlov and Big Show, then don’t even bother. Kozlov could’ve just came down to the ring and talked about how he wants more competition. The match served no need. And to make matters worse, we get a match that keads to a segment THAT LEADS TO ANOTHER SEGMENT! Now I am really mad about that match. You don’t need it, give that time to MVP/Benjamin. All Vickie did was talk about how she’s not scared. Yawn, no need.
Jeff Hardy vs. THE Bran Kendrick. Me personally, this was my match of the night. Now it wasn’t a ten minute match or anything but it was the other elements that did it for me. Obviously, Jeff Hardy always gets a tremendous pop, maybe bigger then HHH. The crowd absolutely adores this guy. THE Brian Kendrick receives enormous heat as well. Almost as if he is the big time heel like Edge. So that was cool to see, it’s almost as if the crowd is accepting his part in the Championship Scramble and don’t see him as someone who receives their one time only title shot. It finally dawned on me last night who THE Brian Kendrick reminds me of, a young CM Punk. I’m talking old ECW/ROH days but maybe that’s just me.
The closing match made me feel down as far as the Championship Scramble goes for Smackdown. Since Khali continues to be associated with HHH and the match, I can only assume that he will poke his head into the match and cause chaos. Please, no. I understand that he’s on his way out with his knee injuries but one shot is enough. The fans don’t want it. If Triple H loses his title at Unforgiven, I’d be shocked but at the same time interested. But, if it’s due to Khali, forget it. Please, WWE don’t do this I won’t be a happy camper. Ok so a Smackdown with its ups and downs, but the ups were important ups. And since Unforgiven is this Sunday, I give you my predictions…
Unforgiven Predictions
– Michelle McCool defeats Maryse
I know that I spent a paragraph praising Maryse because she is phenominal, but with a new title, you need a strong start with the first champ that last a decent amount of time. Give it maybe a couple more months before I go against Michelle McCool. However, I wouldn’t mind being proven wrong here.
– Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiasie defeat Cryme Tyme
Look, it’s obvious that these two are in the process of being made into the future of the WWE. They aren’t going to lose this match, it wouldn’t make sense, plain and simple.
– Mark Henry wins the ECW Championship Scramble
Over the past few months, the WWE has done a terrific job with Henry. Great job with making him an impossible victory. I wouldn’t be surprised if Henry held the title for all 20 minutes. Every PPV I like to label a match as the Gurantee Match. This is my Gurantee Match, no way Henry loses.
– Shawn Michaels defeats Chris Jericho
Here me out, this by no means was an easy pick. I sat here for a good amount of time debating this one. The only reason that I give it to HBK is because this feud is deffinately not over yet. So with the score 1-1, there’s going to be at least one more match between the two. Now just like the Gurantee Match, I also have the Match of the Night. Well, here you go, HBK vs Y2J: The Match of the Night!
– CM Punk wins the RAW Championship Scramble
The whole point of Punk being the WHC is to push for him to be the big name on RAW. I think that this match will be the defining match for him to certify him as the real deal. The only other person that I could possibly see winning this match is Batista. He came to RAW specifically to hold this title, but I don’t think quite yet.
– Jeff Hardy wins the Smackdown Championship Scramble
Yes, it’s true, I’m going with a long shot. A lot of people will say that HHH is definately going to win. However, I say nay. This is not favoritism, I think it’s Hardy’s time, he has beaten HHH at a PPV before, and there need’s to be at least one title change in this PPV. To me, this title changing seems more likely, to me, happening. But hey, maybe I’m just talking out of my end. I’ll look like a fool if HHH wins, but I will look like a genius if Hardy pulls it off.
Ok, if you read all of this, I thank you and congratulate you. I will be back after Monday for my RAW thoughts and Unforgiven thoughts. Thank you again and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me at jetsfan4life08@yahoo.com

Good column, Dan! I’m glad you’re here on TBL!
I doubt Hardy is winning the Scramble. It would be a dumb call. They’ve teased him winning a World Title for a while now and it’s been a nice slow build. When he does end up winning it, it should be in a one-on-one match where it means more, you know? The Kendrick winning wouldn’t make sense, nor will Shelton Benjamin who already has the US title. Thus, we’re down to MVP (interesting choice, since he’s a heel who can use a major push) or Triple H (smart choice as they move to MyTV).
