At the conclusion of Raw tonight, after signing the contract for his Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven this Sunday, WWE fans at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis saw Shawn Michaels favoring his left elbow, which he appeared to injure. Immediate medical examination revealed a damaged left tricep.
WWE.com expects to have more information on Michaels’ injury following a more comprehensive medical examination on Tuesday.
Regardless of the severity of the injury, Shawn Michaels has vowed to meet Chris Jericho in their Unsanctioned Match this Sunday at Unforgiven. What affect will this injury have on Shawn Michaels’ attempt at retribution against Chris Jericho this Sunday?
Thoughts from Jacob Spades: It is somewhat of a relief to hear that the prognosis is now a damaged triceps, as the original thought was that he tore his triceps. A damaged/strained triceps would keep him out for considerably less time than the four to six months originally thought. In my opinion, not only is the length of absence contingent upon his diagnosis, but perhaps the outcome of his Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven. If he is to be away from the ring for up to six months, the WWE would likely write him off the upcoming shows with an injury angle caused by Chris Jericho.
