Nick Diaz will not be fighting Mach Sakurai. At least not in the July Dream card, as EliteXC has decided to not let him fight due to “contractual obligations’. Apparently EliteXC has other plans for Diaz and the July date might conflict with their plans.
‘I was happy to be fighting Sakurai and hoping to get back there to Japan where they have you fight in a ring and there seems to be more respect for the art of MMA. I hope they will still have me back soon to fight him (Sakurai) for the belt..’ -Diaz
If ELiteXC has other plans for Diaz than it is more than likely safe to say that Diaz Vs. Noons 2 is going to be likely taking place on the July 26th CBS show. Noons had a fairly easy fight against Yves Edwards last weekend and although Diaz nearly went the distance in his fight on the same card, he was ready to fight Sakurai in 2 weeks anyway.
This fight could be huge for CBS and with the Scott Smith Vs. Robbie Lawler 2 fight already scheduled for the main event this will only draw more people to the show.
