– In an interview with the New York Times, USA Network president Bonnie Hammer said one of the first things she asked for when she took the post in 2004 was to bring back to WWE programming. She said it was imperative for creating a brand identity for USA programming, which was described in market research as “a pair of beat-up clogs” before she took over.
