Today is the one-year anniversary of the biggest three-day news event in the history of professional wrestling. One year ago today, Nancy Benoit was murdered by husband Chris in their Fayetteville, Georgia home.
Starting on Monday, VH-1 will be airing “I Love the New Millennium” over the next four nights at both 9 and 10 p.m. The show is similar to the “I Love The 80s” shows from a few years ago. Chris Jericho and former TNA personality Jonnny Fairplay will be appearing on the show.
CNBC.com has an interview with Vince McMahon. Regarding the Million Dollar giveaway, McMahon has plans for it to continue. “Pretty much as long as I like. Since I’m a billionaire, I can say when I want to do things and when I won’t. No timetable.” McMahon also says that he doesn’t consider UFC as competition since they are a sport and his company is entertainment.
The recently released Mike “Mikey” Mondo of the Spirit Squad is returning to his roots. He will be appearing at the New York Wrestling Connection indy show in Deer Park, NY this Saturday.
