ECW on Sci-Fi: TV Report

San Jose, CA
-Adamle tells us he’s happy we’ve chosen to spend our Tuesday night with him and ECW to open the show.
-Hornswoggle is headed to the ring to make us laugh and smile. This cues a video package on the Armando Estrada saga that has captivated ECW nation for weeks now.
-This sets up the entrance of Estrada himself for the match. Tazz and Adamle discuss the phenomenon that is Million Dollar Mania.
HORNSWOGGLE VS. ARMANDO ESTRADA
-Horny is holding a cigar as the bell rings. He’s disgusted by the smell so now he breaks it. Estrada is angry. Adamle tells us it was a Cuban cigar. Horny spills out a bag of marbles it appears, and Estrada slips on them running after Horny. Horny goes under the ring and Estrada chases after him. Horny reappears and runs into the ring. Finlay now comes out from under the ring with a super soaker and shoots it at Estrada. Horny now shooting the squirt gun into the air from the center of the ring. Finlay throws Estrada back inside and Horny hits the tadpole splash to finish off the embarrassment.
***Horny wins with pranks in 2:02.
-After the match Tazz interviews Finlay. He asks him what’s under the ring. Finaly says hobbits, fat people, skinny people, and Tazz sized people. Fantastic.
-They go to video footage of Layla dancing in the ring during the commercial break. Tazz says we can see the whole footage at WWE.com. Lame.
-After that Striker is shown in the ring awaiting an opponent.
-That would be Evan Bourne.
MATT STRIKER VS. EVAN BOURNE
-Bourne runs at Striker in the corner and is launched up over the top. They battle on the apron and Sydal, or Bourne, gets hung up on the top rope, from there Striker hits a swinging neckbreaker. Striker puts in a chinlock. Bourne gets out and hits a headscissors, then a leg sweep, but Striker catches him with a knee to the gut on a standing moonsault attempt. Bourne comes back and hits a picture perfect shooting star press to finish it off.

-Mike Knox runs in the ring and lays out Bourne. We head to break with Tazz saying Knox vs. Kofi is up next.
-Back from the break Knox is pacing around the ring waiting for Kingston. They recap his annihilation of Bourne after his match before they went to commercial.
-Kofi makes his way out and Tazz hypes Million Dollar Mania some more.
MIKE KNOX VS. KOFI KINGSTON
-Knox has the advantage early, but when he runs at Kofi in the corner he gets a boot up. Knox over powers him though and throws Kofi into the turnbuckles. Knox puts on a bow and arrow in the middle of the ring, but Kofi gets to his feet. Knox knocks him right back down though and reapplies the hold. Kofi kicks out of it, but gets a forearm and put back on the mat. In the corner again they go and Kofi counters the charge. He heads up top and Kofi hits a frog splash cross body for a near fall.
-Shelton’s music hits and he marches down the ramp as Kofi stares back at him. Shelton gets in the ring and takes Kofi right down. They trade mounts and fists. Shelton then nails the exploder suplex and a kick on Kofi, but Kofi moves and Shelton nails Knox with it. Kofi escapes and smiles.
***Kofi wins by DQ in 2:53.
-Adamle calls Kofi and Shelton the “Ali & Frazier” of ECW as Kofi backs up the ramp still smiling. Shelton and Knox argue about what happened.
-A confrontation between Kane and Big Show is up next.
-A recap of the spellbinding Million Dollar Mania segments airs. Tazz and Adamle talk about it some more.
-Backstage Teddy and Tiffany are with Finlay and Horny. Tiffany mentions to Finlay that he and Horny could be separated at the draft. Finlay and Horny sign the contract for a tag title match against M&M at Night of Champions. Tiffany goes to grab the clipboard from Horny after he signs it and he bites her hand. Miz walks in and wonders if giving them a title shot is a joke. Finaly hits Miz with the infamous contract clipboard.
-Punk heads out to his forever-getting smaller reaction. He’s taking on John Morrison next. Obviously I heard the opening wrong.
-John Morrison heads out after the break.
CM PUNK VS. JOHN MORRISON
-They lock up at the bell and Punk backs Morrison into the far left corner. The ref breaks it up and they circle the ring. A couple of shoves are exchanged and Punk puts in a side headlock. A shoulder block follows, but Morrison gets up and slaps Punk. Punk slaps him back. A kick by Punk and forearm. Punk gets on the apron, but Morrison with a spinning leg sweep from the canvas that upends Punk. Morrison brings him back in the ring with control and delivers a kick to the belly. Now a knee to the gut off the ropes gets a 2 count.
-Morrison puts in a submission hold focused on the ribs. Morrison’s knee driven into the side of Punk’s torso and he elbows out of it. Morrison snaps up and drives him into the corner. Repeated knee’s to the ribs now and one more puts Punk on the mat for a pin that gets 2. Morrison goes back to the same hold, pulling on the leg and arm bringing them together as Punk lays on his side, with Morrison’s knee placed in the ribcage. Punk whips out an inside cradle out of it for 2. Morrison keeps control out of that and hangs Punk up on the ropes. More knees from Morrison into the mid-section. Another kick to the ribs and Morrison goes for another cover that comes up short.
-Morrison slaps on a seated abdominal stretch hold now and Punk elbows out and gets to his feet. Out of nowhere he lifts Morrison up into the GTS position, but Morrison elbows out of it and keeps Punk grounded still. John mounts him and throws fist after fist into Punks mug then tries another pin. 1,2, kick out follows. Morrison locks in a bodyscissors as the crowd chant’s “CM PUNK!” “CM PUNK!” Punk feeding off the crowd wiggles out and ends up with a grip on Morrison’s legs. He lifts him up and it’s an airplane spin! He lets him fly! Punk hits the running knee in the corner, the bulldog is blocked, and Morrison hits the ropes, but Punk pulls out the snap powerslam for 2. Both are winded and wounded, but Punk hits a couple kicks, only to be countered by Morrison who comes off the ropes with a knee to the face for 2.
-Back suplex from Morrison that gets 2. Morrison is loosing is his cool, and Punk is gaining momentum. Morrison comes off the top and Punk catches him on his shoulders he hits the GTS and that wraps it up.
***CM Punk gets the win in 9:35. (**1/2).
-They go to highlights and recap the match. They go to a shot on the ramp of Miz at the top of the ramp with Morrison down by his side. Miz says, and still one-half of the tag team champions of the world, John Morrison. He then says they’ll beat Finlay and his bastard son at Night of Champions.
-The Big Show and Kane confrontation is next.
-Back from the break Teddy Long is center ring hyping Big Show vs. Kane as one of the brands biggest PPV matches ever.
-Big Show makes his way out first for whatever they’re going to do.
-Kane gets his introduction now.
-Teddy says that before their big match, tonight is a forum for them to say whatever they want to each other.
-Big Show says we’ve been opponents, partners, and champions together in the past, but he has something he wants. At Night of Champions he’s going to take it back. Is that right, asks Kane. You may be the worlds largest athlete, and one of the most dominant people in the history of WWE, but you’re not going to be ECW champion. You’re right, you do know me, you’ve seen what I’m capable of, ha-ha-ha, but you have no idea what I’m willing to do to keep my ECW championship. Big Show strokes his beard then says, I do know you, you’re a sick, twisted, sadistic freak. I went through hell to get this match, and I’ll put you through hell to win it. Well, Big man hell is standing right here in front of show.
– Mark Henry heads out and tells them before they start beating each other up, they need to calm down. They’ll need to save their strength, because if he’s not drafted Monday Night you can bet your bottom dollar after NOC, he’s coming after whoever is holding the ECW title. They both grab Henry by the throat and hit a double chokeslam. Now Kane and Big Show have a staredown.
-Fade to Black. Show’s Over. El Fin.
