— Press conference opened with a video package highlighting WWE stars appearing in mainstream settings, mainstream celebrities appearing on wrestling events, WWE’s work with the Make A Wish Foundation, the Smackdown Your Vote program, the Tribute to the Troops shows, and WWE’s weekly TV schedule.
— Todd Grisham welcomed everyone to the live press conference and introduced the “star” of the event, $1 million cash.
— John Cena came out to a mix of cheers and boos. He said that WWE fans have a lot of passion, and WWE giving away $1 million shows their passion for their fans. Cena also spoke for a few minutes about the growth of WWE, putting the company over mainly for new media that hasn’t covered WWE before.
— Maria came out and said RAW is “awesome,” put over the money giveaway, and introduced E-Prize Executive President Gabe Karp.
— Karp said over 300,000 people signed up last night for the giveaway. Maria showed people how to sign up using a laptop on stage.
— Triple H came out next and called Vince his “father-in-law” and said that he is crazy. He said that he told Vince to give him the money and that he’d go around and promote the show, and Vince responded by saying that he would give the money away and Triple H would still go around and promote the show. Triple H then put over the company for a few minutes.
— Chris McCumber of USA Network came out next and said he wasn’t surprised that Vince was giving away so much money because WWE always gives back to its fans.
— Vince McMahon came out next. He thanked USA Network for their partnership and then put over WWE — mentioning how WWE is in 130 countries, how they “practically invented PPV,” etc. Vince said that they will be giving away one million dollars each and every week in hopes of bringing in new viewers and rewarding current viewers. Vince called himself a “crazy billionaire” and said he’d giveaway money for as long as he wanted to.
