–MMAJunkie.com has confirmed with a source close to Clay Guida that “The Carpenter” will face The Ultimate Fighter 6 Winner, Mac Danzig at UFC 87: Seek and Destory in August.
Both fighters are coming off wins in their most recent fight with Guida defeating Samy Schivao at UFN 13 and Danzig defeating Canadian Mark Bocek at UFC 83.
This is just another big fight being added to the UFC 87 that could have lightweight ramifications. Already scheduled is a lightweight clash between Kenny Florian and Roger Huerta that could lead to the winner facing off against BJ Penn at the end of the year.
Georges St. Pierre in scheduled to face Jon Fitch in a welterweight championship in the nights main event and Brock Lesnar will square off with Heath Herring after Mark Coleman was forced out with inury eariler in the week.
–The Ultimate Fighter 5″ runner-up Manny Gamburyan (8-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will meet former castmate Rob Emerson (7-6 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in August at UFC 87.
Over the weekend, sources close to both fighters told MMAjunkie.com that the bout has been accepted by both lightweights and that the fight would be finalized shortly.
–MMAJunkie.com has confirmed that Frankie “The Answer” Edgar will be making his return to The Octagon at UFC 87 In Minnesota.
Edgar who was riding an 8-0 win streak before losing his first pro fight to Gray Maynard at UFC Fight Night 13. Previous to the loss Maynard, Edgar had been in some highly contested bouts with the likes of Tyson Griffin and Spencer Fisher.
As of now their is no opponent for Edgar but one should be announced in the coming weeks.
