Team Forrest is in control of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rampage vs Team Forrest competition by a score of 2-0. Team Rampage needs to get on the board this week. Can they do it?
Following Tim Credeur’s submission win over tough Matt Riddle on episode four, Credeur gives his young foe plenty of praise and even offers to buy him an Xbox 360. This leads Team Rampage’s Jeremy May to toss out the following line to his teammate: “You don’t defend the armbar, and you get an Xbox,” which silences the van ride back to the TUF house.
May’s antics don’t stop there, as he locks Credeur out of the house and antagonizes Jesse Taylor into throwing a Gatorade bottle at him. May laughs it all off, but when he puts lime juice in Matt Brown’s can of chewing tobacco, Brown doesn’t see the humor in the prank and he lets May know – to the tune that he will get even in the next fight.
When fight selection day comes though, it’s Team Forrest’s Dante Rivera taking on Team Rampage’s Brandon Sene. On paper, the 10-2 Rivera has the edge over the 2-0 Sene. But when the bell rings, it’s a nip and tuck battle, with Rivera scoring takedowns and controlling where the fight is taking place, while Sene is busy with knees, elbows, and punches, whether pinned against the fence or on the bottom position on the mat.
The fight continues in this back and forth manner for ten minutes, with the judges asking for a third ‘sudden victory’ round after the bout was deadlocked after two frames. In the third, Sene seems to be the busier of the two with his strikes, but apparently Rivera’s takedowns and positional control were enough for the judges to deem him the winner after the third round.
The verdict is met with disbelief from coach Quinton Jackson, who goes on an angry ‘Mini-Rampage’ after the bout.
With the win, Team Forrest builds its lead
