NEW YORK CITY—Kurt Angle was given about a dozen homemade cupcakes Feb. 20 during his in-studio appearance here on the Derek & Romaine Show, which airs on Sirius OutQ Radio.
Angle was making his second in-studio appearance over the past 14 months on the popular show that airs on OutQ, which is exclusively for the LGBT community—and he fittingly brought the hosts a rainbow cookie which he purchased at Starbucks in return.
Angle, a 1996 U.S. Olympic gold medalist who now wrestles professionally for Nashville-based Total Nonstop Action ( TNA ) Wrestling, was on the Derek & Romaine Show in advance of TNA’s first-ever New York Tour.
“Derek & Romaine is one of my favorite radio shows anywhere,” Angle said. “When I found out I was going to New York City for a media tour, I said that I not only would do the show, but that I wanted to. It’s a great show.
“I had to bring them the rainbow cookie, which I thought was quite fitting for the show after they baked cupcakes for me last time I was in-studio,” in December, 2006.
The Derek & Romaine Show has had TNA Wrestling stars on the show about once a month for several years, including Kevin Nash, “Showtime” Eric Young, Traci Brooks, Raven and Samoa Joe, among others. Brooks was scheduled for her second appearance on the show on Fri., March 7.
