WWE developmental German Figueroa a.k.a. former TNA wrestler Apolo is currently on the run from Puerto Rican police. In January, Figueroa missed a simple court hearing regarding his domestic abuse case with his wife and the judge sentenced him to 30 days in prison. He didn’t turn himself in and he’s now considered to be a fugitive in Puerto Rico. Figueroa signed a developmental contract with WWE last December, and was supposed to start in Florida Championship Wrestling in January.
Internally, some WWE officials are upset that WrestleMania 24 at the Florida Citrus Bowl has not sold out yet. They’ve sold 61,000 tickets thus far, but there are about 10,000 (nosebleed) seats left. On TV, they are plugging this as “new seats have just been released” to explain why they are still plugging WrestleMania tickets.
WWE.com has posted a newsbite on TNA holding their first live iMPACT! broadcast on Thursday, March 27. WWE.com also notes that the show will air on Spike TV, not to mention that TNA will hold iMPACT! tapings on March 28 and 29 as well.
Jim Ross plans on opening up a second “J.R.’s BBQ” restaurant next month in an Oklahoma City suburb.
